Until now, Yeungnam University has been playing a pivotal role in the field of education in Korea.
We will make this 'University for the nation' a 'University for the world' by working together with you from now on.
"Wise and young spirits, strong and young energies, be the creators of new history for the nation and all humankind. Ah, Yeungnam University is growing with its motherland. Ah, wellspring of justice and lighthouse of learning."
Our people have long forgotten the most important mission and the origin of our identity. Yeungnam University reminds our nation of the founding spirit of the former Korea President, Mr. Chung-Hee Park, 'Create a new history, and revive the nation based on patriotic spirit'.
Now, we will play a leading role in creating value and knowledge for ourselves, our community, our nation, and our world by recognizing this mission and the identity of Yeungnam University.
Yeungnam University will concentrate on building internal core competence rather than external beauty and rhetoric. Yeungnam will flourish as a prestigious private university and as a place of academic distinction recognized by both the regional community and the world.
To achieve this, Yeungnam University will re-strengthen its foundation. We will create a university where professors strive for excellence in education and research, students endeavor for excellence in their studies and in the job market, and the university’s staff ensure excellence in the provision of administrative services.
To excel, Yeungnam University will focus on working harder and more diligently. We cannot fly without running at full speed. We know well that the vision and power of the flying horse (Chunma) lies within us.
Learning and seeking the truth contributes to the improvement of our people, society, nation, and ultimately, the world. Yeungnam University will continue to foster these values serving as a place to create our dreams, our future, and our happiness in the world.
Thank you.
Yeungnam University President, Seok Kyun NOH, Ph.D

(PSPS)
The Park Chung Hee School of Policy and Saemaul (PSPS) is a professional education and research institution that aims to promote self-support competency and build people’s capacity in developing countries with the spread of the Self Development Assistance (SDA) model.
The PSPS was established in November 2011, and named after President Park Chung Hee, the father of Korea’s modernization, who led the economic development of Korea in the 1960s and 1970s and made an unprecedented industrialization possible. His leadership made a great contribution to the transformation of Korea from an aid-recipient country to aid-donor country within half a century.
The PSPS is committed to the elimination of poverty in the world and the mutual prosperity of mankind by educating leaders and experts from developing countries about the state philosophy and leadership of President Park Chung Hee, the achievements and lessons learnt from the Saemaul Movement, Korea’s experience with her economic development, and various public policy programs including forest restoration, forest resource management and environmental management policy.
The PSPS provides students with the systematic and specialized programs based on the knowhow and capacity with respect to the developmental experiences and the Saemaul Movement of Korea that have been accumulated for the past 40 years. The School also provides the practical knowledge of direct experiences so that students can develop core talents with field experiences.
As of March 2015, more than 160 students from 42 countries had enrolled in the PSPS, learning about Korea’s Saemaul Movement and its public policy programs in order to contribute to the development of their respective countries. The School has so far admitted 258 students from 52 countries all over the world.
