Cycle Routes in Darlington Radial Routes Each route is named after the area of Darlington it starts in and provides links to the Town Centre. The routes are: Blackwell Cycle Route Harrowgate Hill Cycle Route Haughton Cycle Route Hummersknott Cycle Route Morton Park Cycle Route Mowden Cycle Route West Park Cycle Route Each route has a colour associated with it which can be seen on the Key to the right side of this map. Individual route cards are available for all Darlington Cycle Routes. The radial routes use off-road cycle paths or quiet residential streets. Circular Cycle Route The circular route (highlighted in yellow on the map) connects each of the radial routes and also provides a route around Darlington. The route is ideal for leisure rides but also connects to other useful places such as areas of employment and schools. Cycling Code1. Have consideration for

pedestrians. Cyclists should be aware that not all people will be able to hear or see them.

2. Cycle on roads with care and with awareness of other traffic and consideration for other road users.

3. Park bikes at designated cycle parking stands. Bikes can create a trip hazard if laid on the ground.

4. Do not cycle on pavements except where designated for cyclists - shown by blue signs.

5. Always follow the Highway Code.

Morton Park Cycle Route Time: 16 minutes *The Morton Park Cycle Route begins near Morrisons at Morton Park. From here it follows a mixture of off-road cycle routes and quiet roads to Darlington town centre. The route goes through the Bank Top area of town, passing the mainline Railway Station before heading down Victoria Road, into the town centre and ending on High Row via the Town Hall and Feethams.

From here, cyclists can continue on one of the other six signed routes if they wish to travel to another area of Darlington.

Route Cards are available for these other Cycle Routes and also a Cycle Map which covers the urban area of Darlington and the rest of the Borough.
