Fortinet to Protect Against Threats at Every Possible Entry Point

Fortinet which has been protecting customers at every entry point into the network with its expanded ATP framework has

enhanced its FortiClient solution. The enhanced FortiClient solution enables every device - local or remote, station-ary or mobile – to be protected anytime, anywhere. In addition, Fortinet’s two new FortiGate 3000 series high-performance firewalls, ideally suited for top-of-rack applications, help protect internal traffic and prevent threats from moving later-ally within an organizations’ network.

“The constantly evolving threat landscape and advancements in IT infrastructures are forcing organiza-tions across the Middle East to rethink

their overall security strategy,” says Alain Penel, Regional VP – ME at Fortinet. “No longer can they rely on border-only solu-tions to protect against risks that threaten the health of their business. Only Forti-net’s broad cyber security platform pro-vides protection from the endpoint to the data center or cloud. With FortiGate and FortiMail already in the ATP Frame-work, the addition of FortiClient closes another possible hole in protection.”

Fortinet’s extended ATP platform with its next-gen FortiClient solution can now seamlessly integrate with FortiSandbox to quickly thwart threats entering at both on-network and off-network endpoint devices. FortiClient recently received AV Comparatives’ highest Advanced+ rating for file detection.

Fortinet’s newly announced For-tiGate 3000D and FortiGate 3100D Network Firewalls are designed to sit at the top of the rack; leveraging Fortinet’s legendary FortiASIC-driven high performance and extreme port density to enable a level of internal network visibility and protection that no one else in the industry can provide. The FortiGate solution also actively discovers and reports new zero-day threats and malicious code to Fortinet’s FortiGuard Labs propa-gating real-time threat protection to Fortinet’s security solutions.

The new FortiClient will be available in Q3 2015. Interested organizations can sign up for an early beta program.

CISCO EXPERT TO DISCUSS HOW TO MAKE IOT SECURITY A REALITY

With security becoming an increasingly bigger concern in the era of IoE, Cisco will use GISEC as a platform to highlight how physical and cybersecurity solutions need to work intelligently together to protect the networks, devices, applications and data that make up the IoE. The company’s security expert, Philippe Roggeband, Business Development Manager of Cisco Security Architecture, will be delivering a keynote address entitled ‘What do we need to make IoT security a reality?’ on the morning of the 28th April 2015. “To secure the networked connec-tions among people, processes, data, and things, an end to end security approach needs to be as pervasive as the Internet of Everything itself. Cisco has been securing organizations of all sizes for decades, and we understand the rapidly changing security landscape. Our customers need to maintain a secure end-to-end environment to protect critical infrastructure, data and intellectual property”, commented Roggeband. To achieve the immense business benefits afforded by the IoE, a highly robust and secure network infrastructure is required. At GISEC 2015, Cisco plan to address these issues and place the spotlight on their security solutions for IoE. Additionally, they shall highlight Cisco’s threat-centric approach to security, which focuses on protection before, during and after the threat.

Help AG will be present at GISEC 2015 together with six of its vendor partners. In addition to demonstrating each of these vendors’ technologies, the company will focus on showcasing its own extensive portfolio of specialized security services which are delivered by its Strategic Secu-rity Consulting, Technical Consulting, Security Analysis, Co-ordinate Threat Mitigation, Managed Security Services and Security Assistance divisions.

PROACTIVE PROTECTION WITH LOW IMPACT ON INFRASTRUCTURE

Bulwark Technologies, the long stand-ing partner of ESET, is highlighting the vendor’s completely re-engineered and redesigned range of IT security products for business at GISEC 2015. The VAD is aiming to attract education, government and large enterprise customers with the new set of technologies which was unveiled by ESET just last month.

“ESET’s revamped range of business security solutions addresses the specific challenges of usability, flexibility and performance that Middle East organiza-tions face and delivers comprehensive IT security to companies of any size,” said Pradeesh VS, GM at ESET ME. “Bul-wark’s deep knowledge and familiarity with our solutions makes them the ideal

partner to promote this impressive range of technologies among channel partners and end users at GISEC.”

The all-new IT security products offer maximum proactive protection with low impact on company infrastructure, as well as packing a wealth of new fea-tures, such as Botnet Protection, Exploit Blocker, Anti-Phishing and Anti-Theft. The new ESET Remote Administrator features a built-in task management system to minimize downtime, while allowing actions to be performed auto-matically based on dynamic group membership.

The companies are also using GISEC as an opportunity to strengthen ties with Bulwark’s channel partners. Gary Pereira,

Sales Manager from Bulwark of Bulwark said, “We are eager to extend our full sup-port to the channel in order to ramp up their proficiency on the new solutions from ESET. This support will also include technical and sales trainings.”

Following the wide international cover-age of the recently introduced research paper titled “Geographical Passwords” published in the International Journal of Security and Networks (IJSN), ZSS LTD has launched its first product: ZSS LOGIN the world’s first geographical password solution. It utilize the remark-able human ability to remember places as a way to provide safe access, where users

can select geographical locations as their very strong access credential to different systems.

“ZSS LOGIN comes as a response to the continued events of security breaches, especially the compromise of millions of users passwords on different websites” said Dr. Ziyad Al-Salloum, ZSS’s CEO. “If users were using geographical pass-words as implemented by ZSS LOGIN,

then they won’t be affected by the recent iCloud celebrity photos breach, or the compromise of over one billion of inter-net passwords stolen by a global cyber crime ring,” Al-Salloum continued.

Cyber criminals need trillions of years to brute force ZSS LOGIN geographical passwords, assuming 100 trillion guesses per second. “Geographical passwords, to a large extent, solves the password fatigue problem and can be a simple and practical replacement of conventional passwords. And the technology is suitable to all ages while millions of websites don’t need to change or integrate anything for users to start using it,” Al-Salloum explains.

A study revealed that proposing an effective replacement of conventional passwords could reduce 76% of data breaches, based on an analysis of more than 47000 reported security incidents.

StarLink is participating in GISEC 2015 along some of its key vendors includ-ing FireEye, TripWire, Infoblox, Arbor Networks, MobileIron and Ixia. Visitors will get the opportunity to network with these leading vendors at their individual pods and attend best-of-breed product demonstrations on APT protection, DNS security, DDoS protection, Secure EMM/MDM and Network Visibility solutions. Visitors will also get to learn more about StarLink’s Security Framework and Solu-tions Lifecycle.

“With the current state of the IT Security landscape in the Middle East region, we expect an excellent response from industry decision makers, who come to this premier event in the region to focus specifically on addressing their compliance and next-gen-eration threat protection requirements,” said Nidal Othman, MD at StarLink.

ISTORAGE INTRODUCES SUPER SPEED, PIN CODE ACCESS USB DRIVE

iStorage has officially launched a super speed, high-performance USB 3.0 drive with hardware encryption. The new datAshur SSD is platform independent and works across all operating systems including thin clients and embedded systems such as medical equipment. The device incorporates a rechargeable battery allowing the user to enter a 7-16 digit PIN onto the on-board keypad before connect-ing the drive to a USB port. John Michael, CEO of iStorage comments, “iStorage is delighted to continue to evolve its product range to effectively secure the mainstream. To meet ever-evolving market demands and in response to feedback from our cus-tomers who communicated the need for high capacity compact data storage devices, we came up with the datAshur SSD.”

MANAGEENGINE’S IT SECURITY & CM SOLUTIONS AT GISEC 2015

ManageEngine is demonstrating its latest security products, and profile success stories that address today’s security concerns as well as ongoing operational challenges. “GISEC, being the Middle East’s only large-scale information security event that brings together industry, government and thought leaders, is a perfect platform for ManageEngine to reach out to the region’s CIOs, address their IT security concerns and help them mitigate those risks as effectively as possible. Apart from showcasing our best-in-class IT security & compliance management solutions, our technical experts will also hold product demos and share global and regional success stories with customers,” said Nirmal Kumar Manoharan, Regional Director (Sales-Middle East) at ManageEngine.
