FREEDOMof CHOICE

You can choose from ready assemblies (delivery directly

from stock, see page 7) or custom veneer layers by

combining the colors and veneer thicknesses of your

choice.

Depending on the intended use of the blank, it can be

made in exactly the desired size. For example, for jewelry

the special blanks, by varying the colors, thicknesses and

direction the veneers are laid in.

DESIGN in DEEP COLORS

Freedom of design: The combination of real THOROUGH

coloring and 3D forms gives a high-quality, individual

and nuance-rich result. Because the thorough coloring

does not alter the characteristics of the wood (birch),

nearly all surface treatment methods can be used:

lacquering, waxing, oils, etc.

LIMITLESS POSSIBILITIES

The production of a colored laminated veneer starts with the selection of a suitable birch veneer. The veneers are colored

throughout to the exact tone required using the integral coloring method developed by CWP. The composition made

up of different colored veneers is laminated into one timber panel that is as easy to machine as ordinary birchwood.

We will help you to plan your own color combination and to have it made as a CWP premium color veneer laminate.

Choose the colored birch veneers you want and design a combination agreeable to you. Depending on where the product

is meant to go, you can choose a very tranquil color combination or cause a stir with more daring colors.

The possibilities of colors and compositions are limitless!

GUARANTEED AVAILABILITY

The Scandinavian birch we use has excellent

availability throughout Northern Europe, regardless

of time of year or annual fluctuations. A fast drying

process makes it possible to deliver special colorcombinations in small lots.

EXCELLENT MACHINABILITY

The glue used in the laminate saves machine tools,and the dyes used do not affect the excellent

machinability of birch. We can produce CWP color

veneer laminate either with a crosswise laminated

structure or with a parallel structure that enables

machining of the most difficult shapes. The material

does not present any problems with regard to work

safety. Pre-dried color veneers ensure a low humidity

throughout the laminate block.

INTERIOR

Colored wood keeps its color. Parquet flooring can

be re-sanded and the color will stay the same.

Moulding profiles, interior wall elements and eventhe covers of sockets can be combined with the

tones of floor materials.

Serving mats and trays made from

with their infinite color options create

small objects. You can choose colors

suitable for both the season and

COMPONENTS FOR SHOES

Over the course of the decades, birch as a material

Premium Colored Veneers

Single veneers thoroughly colored with the CWP method are suitable for different kinds of surface or middle layers of formpressedwood components, too. These veneers are also used in the manufacturing of CWPs own laminates.

All the colors shown are available directly from stock. We will also gladly produce tones on a customer-by-customer basis.

Blanks laminated from thoroughly pre-colored CWP veneers. Blanks available as warehouse products come in severalready color combinations and in one standard size (see table). For rapid manufacture of samples and tests.

We construct customer products in the color combination you desire using standard

colors (see previous page), or in colors developed on a project-by-project basis.

The th ickness of the veneer to be used and sizes of veneer can also be varied.

Ready blanks can be laminated with colored veneers either crosswise or in parallel,in the way most appropriate for its purpose.

CWP in Brief

Coloured Wood Products Oy, CWP for short, is a company specializing

in the thorough coloring of birch. Its roots are in a thorough coloring

method developed at the Lappeenranta University of Technology's

Section of Wood Technology. This method makes it possible to color

even 45-mm-thick wood throughout its thickness in the desired tone,

and to repeat this tone from batch to batch.

We manufacture, sell and market veneers and product blanks for

hunting and sports-related equipment, design products, interior design

and furnishing solutions, as well as applications in the building industry.

Our manufacturing and material acquisitions functions are concentrated

in Lappeenranta, about a 2.5-hour drive from Helsinki, in the middle

of the most beautiful lake region in Finland where Finnish birch growsin abundance to exceptional strength and beauty. Thorough coloring

allows us to help preserve tropical timber, for example, which is

becoming scarcer all the time, and replace it with a tree already in

wide commercial use: birch.
