    Project -In - Charge for the work of Rehabilitation of Southern Runway at Queen AliaInternational Airport, Amman, Jordan, costing 7,220,000 JD. Responsibilities includes Laiseningwith the Client department - Civil Aviation Authority - and the Consultant, Supervision, Qualitycontrol and Assurance, Planning and monitoring of project works, administration of Contracts ofsub-contractors and finalization of project accounts. This work comprising of removal andreplacement of about 200 slabs of Rigid pavement and execution of 3 layers of FlexiblePavement Overlay using Polymer Modified Bitumen (235,000 Sqm). Work was successfullycompleted to the much satisfaction of the Clients.

    for periodical visits to site and responsible for the study of the existing pavement and approval ofthe design of strengthening layers for the existing portion of Runway, and study of soil structure,check and approve the pavement design of the extended portion and guiding the Junior staff. Firstvisit comprises of 2 months of feasibility study in India and site study at Bangladesh.

    Scope of this assignment includes studies to suggest input for making the projectsviable to the maximum extent possible for private sector project, evaluate the socialrehabilitation costs and suggest detailed rehabilitation and relocation plan as per theneeds of the project, study the environmental impact of the project and suggestmeasures within the purview of law, suggest the toll structure and bid criteria for theproject as per the DPR's available with the Nigam for making it viable under PrivateSector participation and suggest such modification in the DPR's as necessary, preparepre qualification documents, NIT and Tender Documents and assist the Corporation inevaluation of the same for selection of pre qualified and final private developers andarrange to get the project appraised from financial institutions/ Banks and also arrangesanction of term loan for the project.

    a.1989 1991 - Bombay Airport works:Building Maintenance works and Operational facilitation works of International PassengerTerminal Building including related pavement areas of Bombay Airport, its ancillary buildingsand external services, water supply systems, approach roads, car parks, road signage andhorticulture works etc., The responsibilities also includes execution of major works related withInterior finishes of International Standards such as different types of false ceilings, Marble andCarpet wall claddings, different types of floorings (marble flooring, vinyl flooring, Carpetfloorings) etc. and in the process, it was a part of responsibility of preparation of detailedestimates, tender documents, evaluation of tender bids, contract administration, constructionsupervision, quality control, management and co-ordination with user agencies etc.,

    b.1988 1989 - Delhi Airport works:

    Construction of Apron for Aircraft parking and taxi-ways for Air-India Maintenance Hanger, atIndira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi (U.S. $ 2 Million) The work included contractadministration and construction supervision of 60,000 sqm. of rigid pavement, flexible pavementsand shoulders. Construction of Aircraft Maintenance Hangers and related aprons and annexbuildings for Border Security Force at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi (U.S.$ 1.5millions). The responsibilities include contract administration and construction supervision ofcomposite steel structures, their pre- erection quality checks, safety procedures, trial runs andcommissioning, co-ordination with user agencies.

    c.1987 1988 - Airport at Aggati Island - Lakshadweep Islands

    (A project of National Airports Authority of India constructed by International Airports Authorityof India)

    This project comprising of execution of Runway of 1.8 Kilometer long and 45 Meters wide i/cShoulders., Terminal Building, Residential Buildings, Roads and 4 Kilometer long Plastic coatedchain link fencing etc. It is a unique nature of experience, as it was constructed on an Island inArabian Sea, situated 260 kilometers away from the western coast of India. All Constructionmaterials have been transported from Mangalore/ Cochin by Mechanical Sailing vessels (MSVs)of 150 to 300 Tonne capacity. This project was costing about U.S. $ 3 Millions, and executedwithin a record time of one year, under selfs supervision and guidance as Engineer-in-Charge.

    The responsibilities include two stages. One was selection of materials, testing and approvingafter quality control tests at base Camp at Mangalore Karnataka state, India for initial 4 monthsand the Second, Transportation of materials from Mangalore and Cochin Harbors including

    coordinating with Port Administration. Logistic transport arrangements is an unique operationwhich includes handling operations of loading and unloading of construction equipment &Materials at high-seas, co-ordination with the Lakshdweep Administration and other relatedagencies. Establishing communication systems with main land (Wireless system), Progressupdating and communication with Head Quarter at Delhi on day to day basis. Execution of workon non - cohesive base, supervision and quality control/assurance, and finalization of bills ofcontractors and Project accounts etc. Completed the work valuing Rs.6.20 crores to the muchsatisfaction of Client with in a record time of 6.5 months (duration of construction 3 rd Oct 1987 16th April 1988).

    Executed the works viz. 1,50,000 sqm. of Rigid Pavement (Apron) for Aircraft Parking Bays andTaxi-Tracks, construction of R.C.C. Fly-Over (Class ' AA Loading), Pile Foundations for Fly-Over and Multistoried Terminal Building, 20 m Span R.C.C. Bridge (Six lane width).
