Employment Technical.................................................................................................................... { Robert Price Builders’ Merchants Abergavenny, UK Web Content Editor July 2014 – September 2014 Work as part of a GoWales Professional Development scheme, for which I was awarded a City & Guilds Level 4 Award in Project Management. The 10 weeks were spent building the front-end of their redesigned website and online shop. I also had to contact dozens of suppliers to collect stock information for the database, improving my communication skills. Alongside the major project, I led a project to improve the business‘ traffic and search engine rankings. { Areva GmbH Erlangen, Germany Plant Manuals Technician July 2013 – June 2014 I spent my industrial placement year working as a developer in the Plant Manuals Department at Areva‘s German HQ. I maintained the technical side of transitioning all manuals to XML format through XMetal, working with DITA, XSLT and XSL-FO, PHP, JavaScript and SQL on various projects. I also acted as a developer outside of my department, including working on a 3D pipeline visualisation app created using C++ and OpenGL. I also offered colleagues in office support, including creating automation scripts for small issues. { NuStar Energy LP Maidenhead, UK IT Intern June 2012 – September 2012 During my time at NuStar‘s EMEA head office, I experienced many IT roles including Europe wide tier 1 & 2 technical support and equipment installation & maintenance, working on devices ranging from desktop computers to switches and server racks. The servers and computers ran virtual partitions of Windows, so I have worked with Exchange, Active Directory and general MS server maintenance, including being responsible for daily backups to magnetic tape. I also shadowed team members during the major network and telecomms update underway during my time there. To help build relationships with other departments, I introduced a monthly department newsletter which gave computer use tips and detailed our latest projects and changes.

Interests and extra-curricular activity{ I enjoy involving myself in Student politics and the educational experience. I am an academic representative

for my course, where I have introduced new tools like coffee mornings and a Rep website to increaseengagement with the students I represent. This led to my role as Institute Rep, where I attend Instituteand University panel meetings to act as a voice for the student body. My work with the university studentmedia also includes plenty of work aiming to improve student experience.

{ I am an avid photographer, with work published in advertising campaigns for National Rail and used onUniversity machines.
