The new design has shifted toward an exam free format, because exams have been found to be insufficient for demonstrating knowledge in the course subject matter. The course has three written assignments, which are in the form of argumentative papers regarding sociological topics. I am responsible for marking 60-120 papers per term. The new course design does not utilize a textbook; instead, students are assigned topics that are relevant to the course material, and required to post an online resource (article, video, podcast, etc.) to an online discussion forum. I am responsible for the grading online posts; each post is worth three to four marks and students are expected to put up one post and respond to four throughout the semester. I have also lectured in Dr. Sandra Enns stead when she is unable to attend class, and have provided an energetic, engaging and comfortable learning environment.

I am fascinated by gender norms present across all cultures and the influence gender has on: relationships, attraction, and dating.

Free will, Agency, and Ethics

I am captivated by philosophical and sociological questions concerning the existence and nature of free will and how it relates to ethics, and personal identity.
