Student Advocate for the older person

- Working under the supervision of Residents’ Advocate.- Working in collaboration and attending meetings with the Multi-Disciplinary Team.- Liaising with outside agencies and professionals such as Public Health Nurses.- Providing social work support to residents and their families on my case load.- Recording, maintaining and reviewing clients’ care plans.- Engaging with and providing advocacy interventions for residents exhibiting symptoms of dementia.

- Providing social work support to women impacted by addiction, mental health and domestic violence and homelessness. - I liaised with housing organisations that provide quality accommodation in Cork City for vulnerable people with complex needs such as emergency accommodation.- I provided aftercare services to women who had moved out of homelessness and had reintegrated into sustainable housing accommodation in the community.- Supported families with children in establishing a house hold routine in meeting the family’s needs.
