The goal of this design was to create a building that convinces by its simplicity and clear lines to serve as a glider plane hangar. The design feature of an exposed construction supports this idea. It enables the vast spanning bridge construction, which is necessary for the building’s purpose.
In addition, it significantly contributes to an airy and open atmosphere inside the hangar. On a greater scale, the building itself supports the desired simplicity by being composed of perpendicular axes in all dimensions, with large sliding doors blurring the border to the outside.

- The transformation of an old industrial hall
into space used for food events -
- A natural tree construction for seating
in the cooking factory -
hotel britannia
The transformation of the old space aspires an harmonious composition & should lead to the revival of the Hotel
Britannia. Building a model on scale 1:30 was very effective in order to studie the different effects
of depth, materialization and framing.
The ambition for this project is to enrobe the existing space with a new outfit and highlight the very strong aspects of the past.
Due to the coupling of floor and former columns the construction could be easily controlled.
The linked elements curl from front to the back of the building as a playful combination, which lets you wonder whether
you are following shadow lines or constructive elements. The association of a ballroom is created. The irregularity of lines
aspire an harmonious composition with a repetitive façade, which presents itself less prominent.

Many people think of cancer as a disease, which only affects much older people or very young children. During my research I investigated the problematic situation young adults between 18 and 30 years of age have to face, after being diagnosed with
cancer. This research is based on the perception that traditional care models are not adequately meeting the needs of adolescent cancer patients. In our health system young people don’t exist. The premise for the design of a new cancer care centre
for adolescents is that the architecture reacts on the complex problems of the young people and to let them forget about their sorrows.
