EMPLOYMENT2015 – 2016 Senior Customer Service Assistant (Loughborough University Swimming Pool)

Main responsibilities included dealing with customers, handling complaints and arranging bookings, as well as organization and running of the children’s swimming lesson programme. After beginning the position further responsibilities also included advertising and promotion of the facility. This included maintaining an up-to-date online presence such as writing and uploading weekly timetables and updating course dates and prices, as well as uploading promotional photographs of the facility and University swimmers. It also included maintaining in-house advertising. Also responsible for handling money unsupervised each day and cashing up at the end of shifts.Skills gained – Well versed in the use of Plus 2 MRM software, excellent customer service and front-of-house skills, an ability to multi-task and achieve goals to a high standard, an ability to learn new skills quickly and efficiently and maintain a calm demeanour under time pressure.

Main responsibilities included remaining calm and displaying quick responses under pressure, maintaining professionalism during potential crises; working alongside other lifeguards and staff members, dealing with customer problems and complaints and taking care of the building by cleaning and assisting staff members in other departments when needed. Responsibilities as a Customer Relations Advisor also include competent use of booking system and helpful customer relations, as well as money handling.Skills gained – Interpersonal skills with other staff members and the public, time management and concentration skills, IT skills and knowledge of computer booking systems, money handling.

FURTHER EXPERIENCE2016 CELTA private teacher to a number of individual students while staying in Prague following the completion of my CELTA

qualification in November 2016. Also assisted and observed other experienced CELTA teachers during classes. 2014 Bar staff member at numerous Xstatic events including summer music festivals for Red Jelly productions.

Main responsibilities included serving customers a variety of drinks (including spirits using optics, mixers and on tap ciders) handling money, replacing empty optics and re-stocking different bars around the sites.Skills gained – Mental math skills, working quickly under pressure, Good rapport with customers.

INTERESTSMy recent completion of the CELTA qualification and subsequent teaching experience I have gained in the short time following the course in Prague has given me a new and exciting interest in language teaching. I am currently learning Portuguese in my spare time and I find the intricacies of language intriguing. I have trained in Wado Ryu Karate for 11 years and I am a 3rd Dan black belt. I attended my University archery club once or twice a week until recently finishing University; I now practice in my own time. I keep fit by training in the gym on average three to five times a week and have recently started swimming and sprinting as well. I have previously trained in kickboxing as well as having tried my hand at many other self-defense forms and martial arts; I currently do boxing training for the fitness element. I have previously attended ballroom and Latin dance classes until recently and competed several times throughout this period. When not exercising I like spending time relaxing with friends and getting out and about since I am a very sociable person.
