The role is to bring in industrialexperience in the context research and teaching at the department. Whilst, for thestrategic business unit of the Faculty of Engineering, name'ly Advanced Engineeringand Innovation Center (AEIC) responsibilities is givin as a tieputy DirectorilndurrryLiaison). Dr Roslizar is responsible for bringing this prestigious project RM3 millions to IIUM.IIUM is now the recipient for OFFSET technology transfer program for MINDEF,Defense Industry Division. The project "lntelligent Communication System" isawarded through Rhode and Schwarz from Germany as the oEM for ihe RoyalMalaysian Navy Patrol Vessel PV3, PV4, PV5 and PV6 project. Project completed inDec 2010.

As Project Director, Dr Roslizar will ensure the successful transfer of technology toMalaysian entity through training, system integration and R&D with the closecooperation of Rhode and Schwarz of Germany.

Dr Roslizar's was appointed as Adjunct Professor to the Faculty of Electrical andElectronic Engineering at Department of Electric and Robotics Engineering forUTHM. It carries the title of a Professor. Among the responsibilities are-to advise thefaculty on the issues regarding curriculum, new programs, development of staff andstudents.

ActiveVis System is a R&D company in the area of smart security and surveillancesystem. A smart system was developed to detect moving objects and humans in ascene.

A grant of RM150,000.00 were received from MDEC. Two MSc were graduatedfrom this project.

Halal Standards Consulting is a Perak-based consultancy company formed in 2007with the expertise in Halal Standards, implementation of Halal

Dr Roslizar as the principal consultant have made proposals and bidding to perakState Government

Japan,urM, uKM, uPM, SIRIM and MIGHT. MCRIA have a on going Memorandum ofAgreement with IIUM to established a joint venture center for robotics calledIMRAC.

Several strategic and high-tech contents proposal was forwarded to the MalaysianGov. eg Robotics Underwater Vehicle for implementation in Bakun prolect,Development of RoboCity in southern region of Peiak State, Development of l4oUit"Robot platform with UTM and the formation of Robotics and AutomationAssociation of Malaysia. Efforts to produce indigenous robotics and automationtechnology are ongoing.

Activities of MCRIA includes:-o Hand-on-training and information dissemination. Corporate R & D and technology transfero International linkages and collaborations

Robotics and Industrial Automation (MCRIA). Besides managing MCRIA, itsactivities also includes:-

Two world class companies have signed up as MCRIA Resources technologybusiness partners l) DENSO from Japan for the robotics and automation hardwarland 2) BYG Systems, UK for the robotics and discrete events simulation software.Various world robotics company such as FANUC, ABB, OTC, LN, SMC and etc arealso providing their technology to MCRIA. More than RM20 millions worth ofrobotics system have been successfully installed in Malaysia. MCRIA's engineers areconstantly trained and upgraded to design, fabricate, install and train robotic andautomation system for the Malaysian customers needs.

MCRIA Resources also ventures into other areas and technologies such asmanufacturing of automotives parts, robotics painting line for auto parts, e-learningsystem, industrial engineering design services, software and hardware for educationa-isupplies.
