“But what should WE weigh?!”Still have no idea how you could use the

“weighing” idea for your company?

Page 16: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

Try asking yourself the following creative questions!

Page 17: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

What products or parts could we put together?

Page 18: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

What could we take apart?

Page 19: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

What could we break?

Page 20: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

What could we remove from the product and make a nice little pile of?

Page 21: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

What is used to make our product?

Page 22: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

What about using the packaging?

Page 23: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

What about making a pile where you can’t see how much is there?

Page 24: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

Still no ideas?:) Maybe more specific examples will help …

Page 25: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

Do your products have exact ascertainable weights, like for example electronics?

Try breaking apart old or defective merchandise and make a nice little pile from various leftover

parts.

Page 26: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

Do your products have exact weights but you have several different varieties that people likely

won’t be able to find out? Try weighing, for example, several pairs of shoes in different sizes

and models.

Page 27: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

Is your commodity a service?Try to think of an element that characterises your service.

Maybe paper, documents, offices, cars …

Page 28: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

How about asking the weight of all the recycled paper collected in your office in a week?

The question would be accompanied by a picture of your paper recycling bin.

How about asking the weight of five full file folders with your logo?

Page 29: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

Final check – two last points!

Page 30: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

1. Is your picture fun or unique in some way?

Page 31: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

What about using an old pair of sneakers instead of new ones?

What if every file folder was a different colour? What if the paper recycling bin had a sticker on it

encouraging people to recycle? What if the bosses on the scale were grimacing or

wearing clown hats?

Page 32: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

2. Does your contest allow for enough different answers or is it possible for everyone

who answers to get it right?

Page 33: Customer contest tip - Let your customers guess the weight!

If the correct answer has a limited range, you limit the number of contestants. If it’s obvious that the right answer has a range of say 20-30, then after 10

responses no one else will be motivated to guess.

Wrong: Asking the weight of a single person in pounds.Right: Asking the weight of two people squeezing onto a scale and asking the

answer to be down to the first decimal place.
