Provide highly skilled nursing care to unstable patients in a 48-bed locked, inpatient psychiatric unit. Applied critical thinking skills to plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate activities to provide quality nursing care to patients and their family members. Consulted with members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of competent, quality health care. Administered psychotropic medications to patients in a timely manner and as needed for withdrawal or other psychiatric issues.6-24 hours per week.

Postpartum care and management of mother and baby (or babies). Admission and discharge of postpartum families, evaluation of postpartum health including postpartum hemorrhage, blood sugar stability, pain management, and blood pressure evaluations. Patient and family teaching for infant care and bathing, breastfeeding, pain management, fluid overload, and signs & symptoms of infection or cardiovascular instability after discharge.12-48 hours per month.
