2009: Started a demonstration plot on a Model Farm/Home in Kenyatta University on Food Security and Sustainable Poverty Reduction.

National level

2011: Appointed by the Vice-Chancellor to represent Kenyatta University on National Youth Volunteer Scheme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

1995: Appointed Kenya representative for vocational and technical

education for girls and women under which I visited Seoul, (Republic of Korea - 1995), Ouagadougou, (Burkina Faso - 1995), Harare (Zimbabwe - 1997) and organized a National workshop on technical and vocational education for girls in 1996 at Kenyatta University sponsored by UNESCO.

15.2 Contribution to University Advancement I developed the first training undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes

in the Department of Textiles and Clothing Design.

I revised the model of the Directorate of Community Outreach and Extension Programmes with four proposed programmes:

Kenyatta University Week of Community Service Kenyatta University Neighborhood Community Welfare Taskforce Kenyatta University Community Resource Centre Students‟ Community Service Requirement for Graduation

I have taught all the units in the Department of Fashion Design and Marketing.

I have heavily supervised postgraduate students in the Department of Fashion Design and Marketing and other departments where I have graduated 3 Ph.D Students, 29 Masters Students and others are in progress.

I have held two major administrative responsibilities at Kenyatta University:

1st Chairperson of Fashion Design and Marketing for 4 years 1st Director, Community Outreach and Extension Programmes and still

going on.

I have mentored many students on career development and their personal skills through the Directorate of Community Outreach and Extension Programmes and Directorate of Mentoring Programme.

I have developed several fundable programmes in the Directorate of Community Outreach and Extension Programmes which has raised about Kshs. 59,000,000 million towards funding the programmes/projects.

I have undertaken several research projects towards improving the Directorate of Community Outreach and Extension Programmes.

I have organized and participated in many Community Need-Based Programmes nationwide which has positively imparted on the Kenyan society.

I have served in several University Boards and Committees.

I have connected Kenyatta University with other stakeholders under Corporate Social Responsibility which has improve the image of Kenyatta University to the outside world.
