DESCRIPTION
CV - to July 2014
Citation preview
I am a capable and imaginative Interior Architecture graduate with a deep passion for the re-use of existing buildings. Sensitivity to a building’s architectural past and the need to conserve resources by recycling and reuse are essential when I conceptualise a building’s redesign. With creativity and artistic flair, I can design interior spaces which are harmoniously integrated with the building and its location.
Collaboration and communication are two of my top skills evidenced by a series of presentations of my final degree project to prospective students at the degree show and highly effective teamwork to put together the graduate exhibition for FreeRange London 2014.

Final Year Projects
Final Major Project - ‘Gibson Apiary’
• The re-modelling of Gibson Mill, a National Trust listed building, as an apiary promoting the importance of the honeybee’s contribution to sustainable agriculture and the environment.
• The conceptual drive behind the scheme sees the original mill re-imagined as a ‘working hive’ providing for a range of activities linked to traditional and modern beekeeping.
• The narrative of the scheme is illustrated by two timber architectural insertions within the main mill, forming double height spaces, conceptually inspired by the honeycomb frames of a beehive.
Comprehensive Design Report - ‘Gibson Apiary’
• To accompany the design process, research and analysis into the history of beekeeping and the site and building were undertaken.
• Detailed graphically considered design report was produced and published, receiving first class grade in University finals.
Subsidiary Project - RSA Live Brief - ‘Urban Alternative’
• A design to reuse and redesign Woodhouse Lane city centre underpass as a bike hub.
• The scheme forms a pocket park within the underground space, for the commuter cyclists of Leeds to recharge before work.
