Studio | Visual Diary

The visual diary is the gateway into the inner world of our thoughts and how we visually express it. The subject matter range from intimate observations to ex-periencing feelings whilst moving. Three diaries, all to focus on a particular theme each. The span of the diaries from one day, two days, and three and half days. My one day diary is based on the feeling of losing hard earned money on expensive tube journeys. My two day diary is based on my mood when I listened to music on two particular days and how I felt before going towork. My three day diary is my inner imagination when I readnovels on the tube and how they are interrupted.

Studio | Floating Head

Exploring the iteration and process of the floating head, todefine our own national stories, history, place of birth, etc.

My characters of personal interest became nomads andtravellers for serving the purpose of visually representingmy travels to other countries and nations.

I also used a national story from viking poetry, the tale ofNjord and Skaadi, to metaphorically relate the story to howmy parents met and lived together.

The end result was a cd album because the album marketare purveyors of the floating head conundrum but are notridiculed unlike their movie poster counterparts.

Studio | Calligrams

Type, layout and image work together to capture the artwork“twice”, and give a transparent meaning, that is a calligram.

Creating a series of calligrams to describe our experiences of London and its history, through visiting the Museum of London.

The museum lacked any history of the london underground “tube” and the modern people one may meet during travel.

The calligrams shows a scene from the circle line, and hasthree stereotypes that I have bumped into a couple of times.

Under the Influence

Researching an influential or personally inspiring artist and showcasing how their influence visually communicatesto a target audience.

Using instagram and social media, exploring visual communication through video is a step into modern design.

I initally selected redjuice as my inspiration, and afterwards, decided on Kekai Kotaki as the influential figure.

I researched Kekai’s own youtube speed painting workshopsand interviews and wanted to use the speed painting technique to effectively communicate his style.

Nespresso | Case Study

A brief for Jack Morton required a group project to work intandem to visualise an event to take place for nespresso.

Everything feasible had to be conceived, time, place, schedules, aesthetics, sound, event management, etc.

This brief allowed students to become mock practicionersof design and branding.

An oppurtunity to attain genuine feedback from creative directors and event managers enhances ability to sell.

Worked at light design, stalls, layout, color style, discovered the venue, and juxtapositioning images with venue photos.

Critical and Contextual Studies

Alternative souvenirs is a practice of capturing a memory without conventional means, for whatever experience.

Visiting canary wharf allows for one to see into private ownership under the guise of a ‘modern’ shopping area.

I created an interactive poster to which one plays the arealike a videogame, a photo of a security booth as the goal.

Talks and Visits

A representative from Gf Smith showcased inspiring bookprints with a variety of paper types and binding techniques
