theDolomitesweredesignatedaUNESCOworldnaturalheritagesite.
250millionyearsofmovedgeologyformedthenaturalwonderDolomites
outofcoralreefs.TheregionhasbeenpopulatedsincetheIronAge.
Raetians,Romans,Lombardslefttheirtraces,duringWorldWarIAustria
andItalytracedtheirarmedfrontthroughthemountains.Theirlong-
lasting“conquerors”aretheLadins,themostancientpopulationof
theDolomitesandtodaythethirdSouthTyroleanlanguagegroup.
