NETCHER seeks to address the complex challenge of harmonizing and bringing together worthy, but often disconnected initiatives by using a participative approach that will result in the establishment of a structured network (defined as a Social Platform) drawing together a broad range of players such as international bodies, umbrella organizations, national governments, researchers, public policy makers, NGOs, as well as public and private foundations.
Netcher project (NETwork and digital platform for Cultural Heritage Enhancing and Rebuilding) aims at building an information network and a chart of good practices at European scale, by gathering a maximum numbers of actors engaged in cultural preservation. It is funded by the 8th Framework Program of the European Union for Research and Innovation (Horizon 2020) and brings together over a period of 2 years a consortium of 7 European entities, each one responsible for a research theme and a profesional network.
PROJECT OVERVIEW Workshops
Following up the European Year of Cultural Heritage, NETCHER H2020 aims at providing to the European Commission a charter of good practices and policy recommendations about fighting against illicit trafficking of cultural goods.
Netcher will achieve two main tangible productions answering the European Commission needs: a charter of good practices and a social platform.
This concrete fulfillment is at the same time the accomplishment of Netcher and the very beginning of a cross-national and cross-professional basis in looting efficiently.
