Since years we do not only offer high quality topsfor reasonable prices, but also developed ourproduction facilities to offer a flexible response tospecial orders with minimum delay. Some figures and facts

Regarding qualityIn former years there were known 2 categories of convertible tops. The expensive ones, individually tailored,by the trimmers in a solid quality in workmanship and material and the low budget / low quality ready sewnones, mostly from USA and Italy.So the ready sewn top did not have a very good reputation and there had been a lot to improve.Since we started in 1977 in this business, we concentrated in combining the price effort of the ready sewntop with the quality of the individually tailored top. During the years we developed not only precise patternsfor nearly all convertible models, we also consequently refined these by daily installations in our own trimshop to a perfect fit. Also we tried to eliminate all possibilities to make any mistakes in cutting, sewing andfinishing our tops. In 1986 we cutted tops with computerized devices with tolerances of less than1/10 millimeters for the first time. Since then we optimized these processes and established it in ourproduction.To ensure a continuous quality we are additionally certified according DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.So you can expect a standard from our products, which can be compared with the factory made tops andsometimes it is even impoved in several details. But if there should be any reason for a complaint, please donot hesitate to let us know, because we know very well that we need contact and feedback from ourcustomersfor any further improvements of our products if this should be necessary.

Over 3000 square metersin the city of Esslingennear Stuttgart give usenough space forproduction, office, shop,warehouse and all ourknow-how.

Our stock offers over 3000 softtops, full carpet sets andother convertible spareparts for a fast supply. World widedelivery can be handled same day, if ordered before 2 p.m.(our time). Shipping charges and details can be checkedfor you in advance and amount can be booked offcomfortably from all major credit cards.

Our production facilities offer all the requiredequipments from numeric controlled cuttingdevices to hand operated sewing needles toensure the required results.

Conclusion:

This combination of craftmanship hightech and experience will allow us a verygood quality for reasonable prices, which is confirmed by so many customers,trim shops, re-sellers and enthusiasts all over the world.

Computer aided pattern construction:

From mostly brand-new factory original tops we design ourpatterns for production. The definition of these does not onlymean optimizing shapes of the single pieces, but also threaddirection of the material, drawing of all seams and marks fortension-free sewing together of all parts of the top.

Computerized softtop and carpet production:

This technology, which we started using already in 1986 is transferred to our cutting machines, and allowstolerances of less than 1/10mm (1/250 in.) is not only used for our softtop-production, but also for cuttingof headliners, hoodbags and carpet sets in the same precision. Further we do several technical textilecuttings for industry purposes, mostly for the south German car manufacturers. But all this technology willmake no sense, if the quality is not controlled. So we have also our own trimshop, where we do dailyinstallations of our products on our customers cars from the local area. This allows us, to get betterwherever it should be necessary.

With our marking and cutting devices we are notonly able to work with 1/10 millimeters tolerances,but we also get a high flexibility, so that any ordercan be processed within very short times afterreceipt, which will allow very short delivery times.

As soon as a new model is transferred into ourcomputer, it will be firstly test-installed in our owntrimshop and, if necessary, further developed indetails. So second and even third trials couldbecome necessary, before we will add a newmodel into our serial production program.

Softtop materials were not only cut very economical,but also larger waste pieces are used for industrialpurposes, so nearly no waste materials remain.

PVC, Acrylic and other plasticwaste are separately stored andrecycled wherever possible.

Cotton Standard:

Solid cotton backing and outer fabric from cotton/artificialfibre mixture, bonded together with special rubber. Notvery fading proof, will shrink over the years. Available inblack and tan.

US-Acrylic:

Fading proof American topping material, similar butsimplified copy of German "Sonnenland"-fabric, quality ofworkmanship and fit American Standard. Binding mostlyonly in Vynil.In black, dark blue, dark brown. Please add for dark tanand other special colours from € 57,-

Sonnenland-Dralon:

All tops are ready for installation. Special tools or any sewing are not necessary. The top will always fit tothe original factory frame. All seams are sealed additionally, the rear windows from polished PVC are inoriginal size, will not fade and stay crack-free foldable. Hard glass windows, which are fixed to the top by arubber seal, will have to be re-used. Where adjustment at the car is required, easy to install fixing elementswill be supplied. Every top will come with basic informations for softtop installation. All tops get waterproofimpregnation during the production process. Further we can offer large assortment of installation parts,which normally will be required additionally with the installation of a new top, e.g. like tension wires,wooden tack strips, rubber seals. So you always can order these together with the top. In most cases wecan offer this parts for more attractive prices than you local main dealer.

Because of different qualities in material and workmanship we made different price- and quality categories:

Original materials:

Used by the manufacturer for original equipment of the car. Different types and colours, but generally goodqualities. Tops directly from factory supplier or reproduction and detailed from our own production bycomputerised technology, according original high standards. Solid workmanship, no differences in design orused materials guaranteed. Also several old original colours and materials available. Very good price/qualityrelation. No extra charges for all available colours, except PVC white + € 28,-, red + € 57,-.

PVC Standard:

Solid cotton weave with outer PVC covering. For Britishmodels normally "leather"-grain, fixing elements mostlyriveted already to top, quality generally better than Englishoriginal tops. German and Italian models normally with"textile"-grain, correctly crafted, but mostly thinner thanoriginal toppings. Available in black and tan, for whiteplease add € 21,-. Special colours grey, blue, red, brown,please add € 46,-.

"Sonnenland" is the brand name for a 3-layer, high quality topping. Originally used by Mercedes Benz, Porsche,BMW and other top marques, it will remain like new for many years. Tops only from our own production, cut, craftedand sewn carefully according original patterns using actual computer technology. Sonnenland-Dralon:

The early "Sonnenland" top material was already produced since the fifties with a cotton/rayon spun mixture. Old stock doesno more exist or would be no more usable. Since around 1970 a 100% Dralon (TM) fibre is used for the outer fabric.Since around 1995 additional to the "Sonnenland-Classic"-topping material the "Sonnenland-A5" material was developed.The outer fabric consists from technical identic fibre, but this is woven to a tighter surface to increase strength againstabrasion. This happened due to the more frequent opening and closing of the electric tops in comparison to the lessfrequent operations of the manual tops. Resulting from the tighter weaving this A5 material has less flexibility, so this is forolder vehicles with weaker top frames not generally recommended.Also available: Sonnenland Acoustic Topping. Please note, that all other noise-sources remain unchanged, especially theconnections to the front window frame and the door-seals. So only the more unimportant noise-origin of the fabric surfaceitself is reduced by max. 2-3 db. On the other hand you have to accept the worse folding quality of the much stiffer acousticmaterial. Because of this we normally do not recommend use of this material for cars which are not originally constructed forit. Some additional "Sonnenland"-Lookalike-Materials are available in the market, named "Alpaca" or "Everfast". These andalso the British "Mohair"-fabrics are rather poor copies, not fading proof and very abrasive already after short use. We neveruse this as well as the Italian imitations.

Several years ago we could obtain all important original tools for the production of wooden top frame parts from theKARMANN Co. This enabled us to qualified reproductions of all these parts, as we had serious problems with importedlookalike-reproductions before.

Complete carpet sets, exactly tailored to fit, with matching colourbinding for the whole interior.Include main mats, further tunnel and sill covers, rear parcel shelfe.t.c. up to 28 parts. All visible edges are bound with colourmatching vinyl leather. Driver mat has additional welded heel pad.For many models also trunk carpets available. We use onlyspecial automotive carpet materials. These are extremely fadingproof, water-, petrol- and oil-resistant and have a backingstructure, which allows humidity from underneath to pass but isstiff enough, not to work loose under the drivers feet. This materialgets flexible by heating with hot air and can be installed this waymuch easier. We do not use any ordinary "living room carpet"materials, especially not with latex foam backings. These are notenough fading resistant and will also collect humidity bycondensed water, which will cause floor rust, fogging of windowsand also could smell.

Genuine leather interiors

Besides the industrial production of softtops and carpet sets we also do the individual tailoring of real leather interiorsfor restoration and recovering for all models.

We never use leather for furniture or clothing, but only original automotive-quality leather of the automotive industrysuppliers like e.g. Roser or Conolly. The production of these leathers is pcp-free. This means not only quaranteed qualitywith high resistance against sun or humidity, but also no problems, if the same material would be required in later years,because the original colours of the manufacturers will stay available for many years. We also manufacture seat sides andbacks from leather and not from plastic, as well as the pipings around. These will not crack or discolour and give youmuch more value as if they would have been made from money saving PVC-materials. For seat center sections we canoffer different perforation patterns, e.g. from Mercedes and Porsche (see below), further patterns are available.

The flutes of the seatcovers already are padded with the correct wadding, tension strips on inside are sewn in. All pipings aremade from leather (not vynil). Door panels are padded with cotton felt. Where necessary, the leather is skived or split.

Spring baskets and seat paddings

for Jaguar, Mercedes, Peugeot, Porsche, Volkswagen from rubberized hair, CNC-cut and laminated or compoundfoam with rubberized hair. Generally seatpads should be replaced with recovering the seats.

The seat padding, which is located under the seat covering material, should combine a comfortable surface with a solidseat feeling. It needs to transfer the weight of the passenger durable and constantly to the underneath steel spring basket.This can never be guaranteed by a worn out old pad or a simple foam pad. So we manufacture our seatpads forMercedes 107 or 113 according the same extensive compound technology, as Mercedes later used for the 129- seat pads.

Here a solid bottom structure of rubberized hair is moulded by a softer foam on the upper side.This construction will provide comfort for the passenger and a solid feeling of driving for years.Made in Germany by a certified Automotive supplier
