MHD 535 Cable Terminator Module CTM 535
TheCable Terminator ModuleCTM 535 is the terminator module for the temperature sensor cable MHD 535. An MHD 535 system is notoperational without the Cable Terminator ModuleCTM 535.
The Cable Terminator ModuleCTM 535 contains the temperature-compensated reference current source which is required for the formation of the
differential current signals used to transmit the sensor values to the Processor UnitPU.
Construction of the Cable Terminator Module CTM 535
The Cable Terminator ModuleCTM 535 comprises a plastic enclosure made of glass fiber reinforced polyester containing the electroniccomponents for termination of the sensor bus system. The printed circuit board features a flat-ribbon connector for the direct connection of thesensor cable, and in addition a seven-pole plug-in terminal for connecting the sensor cable via a connecting cable.

Figure 2: Drilling plan of the Cable Terminator Module CTM 535
Selecting the location for the Cable Terminator ModuleCTM 535
The location should be a site which is not rendered inaccessible by equipment on site (cable ducts, runs etc.) The mounting location is usuallypredetermined by the application in question (application and mounting type of the sensor cable). A minimum distance of 15 cm from parts onsite (control cabinets, alcoves etc.) should be kept on the entry side of the sensor cable.
Notice
A minimum distance of half a sensor distance or 10 m connecting cable CCA 535 should be maintained
between the last sensor and the Cable Terminator ModuleCTM 535.
Mounting should be carried out, whenever possible, immediately after the last sensor (i.e. without a connecting cable) (grounding concept, inductive coupling). After consultation with the manufacturer and after an accurate design check, remote mounting is also possible.
Fastening the Cable Terminator ModuleCTM 535
The Cable Terminator ModuleCTM 535 is fastened using 4 screws. When mounting on cement or masonry in tunnel applications, special nailanchors CMS 511 with stainless steel V4A screws (5/15x35) should be used. A minimum distance of 15 cm from parts on site (controlcabinets, alcoves etc.) should be kept on the entry side of the sensor cable.
Safety Notice
For protection against humidity, the enclosed desiccant bag should be left inside the Cable Terminator ModuleCTM
535.
