CSMS believes not only theoretical studying is essential to comprehending the material yet also hands on projects is also a major method is the process of learning. From this outlook, CSM started working every year in the different areas of its curriculum to put together different projects to first have tangible learning process, second to share this method with the parents. This year the CSM festival was divided into different areas; first was the science fair section where Grades 1-6 participated. The second section was art, Music, and novels exhibition where also different projects from different grades were presented. Finally, was the Kurdish Culture section. Grades 1-12 took part of this preparation.

On May 4th CSMS celebrated the graduation of its 11th generation of grade six students. It is a day were the school administration works very hard on for months to accomplish a good portrayal of its students’ skills and

talents to the audience. Parents, students and the school administration all together this wonderful day through different activities and protocols.

TerraNova is a standardized set of tests used in the USA for the lower grades that evaluates students’ readiness to move from one level to another; primary to secondary and secondary to high school. This test is composed of math, reading, spelling, vocabulary and other areas of assessments. CSM trains students how to get ready to take a standardized assessment and assist in the he procedure of administrating it. This year and like other past years, students of both grade six and eight levels have practiced in the test on April 7-8, 2019. We tested students for six hours to check students’ performance compared to US students.

CSM is known for having different themes along the year. This idea has been successfully bringing students together for great entertainment. Our aim is to strengthen relationships among students themselves and them with their teachers to ease learning and enlarge the gape of communication. April was a great month of picnics where different grades were taken to different places around the city and enjoyed their day.

SAT

Dr. Razhan presented CSM with three days of Level one of First Aid practice training to help non-medical team provide assistance in times of need or crisis. The course allowed the team to gain an understanding of first aid best practices for a wide range of conditions to use in their daily life and with their students.

What is the SAT? A question asked by many parents and students. According to KRG regulations, international American-system school who do not take “Bakalorya” National Exams needs to take an international-standard exam; SAT. They are composed of English and Math sets and scientific sets where high school students starting grade 9 are introduced to and trained to take. We spend years preparing the students to critically think, analyze and come up with solutions that are part of their regular classes to prepare for the SAT and university academic life after graduation. Nawroz Celebrations

KG GraduationOn this special day, the hall was filled with parents, of whom some were teared eyed, some amazed, some positively shocked, but each one of them proud to see how their child performing their hearts out on the stage for their kindergarten2 annual graduation. It was held on May 4th, in Monaliza hall. As its tradition, the KG prepares each year an event in which the graduating KG students get to show their parents their talents of dancing, dialogue, and various other acts. The whole KG2 are divided into two groups, one of which will perform in the morning, and the other in the afternoon, that is done so the parents can freely enjoy the performances of their kids without it being crowded. The event comes to live with the help of all the KG teachers and administration, they start very early on with the preparations and the planning. In the end, seeing all the smiles and hearing all the laughter.... it is worth every

CSMS is merry to deal and cooperate with Ministry of Education in many occasions. One of the communication tool is the yearly Evaluation of the school. In March 28, 2019 , the CSMS has honored by the visit of the Ministry of education By Mr. Sardar with the team members(Mr. Sardar , Mr Amjad , Ms. Shahhla , Ms. Bayan ) that evaluated the school in diffrent areas.

A letter from AUIS

AUIS president said "After reviewing the Classical school of The Medes's curriculum,faculty,and methods of instruction, after assessing the performance of its graduates, AUIS has determined that successfully completing the two final years at your school prepares a student for undergraduate study at AUIS. For these students, AUIS hereby waives the need to take an English placement test or to complete preparatory work, so that they may enter the AUIS undergraduate program directly upon graduation from your school."

2018/2019 Graduates

Tradition plays an important role in schools by providing a framework to all the effort the school has put to have a special and almost perfect future generation.As for CSM, one of those schools who care about having its own tradition has a special day every year in which G12 students march with a special song and hand shake all students from KG to G11. It’s such a sweet bitter moment seeing those who spent 14 years of their life getting along and learning facts and life lessons from their teachers and school guidances . In addition to the march, the CSM graduates cut their own cake and plant the graduates tree. On that certain day, all the school’s staff members get delighted to see those kids dressed elegantly and marching out of the school to finally experience all the valuable lessons they have learned inside and outside the classroom. We are humble to say that 2018-2019 graduates were our third generation.

CSMS Year Book

CSM school has started to record, highlight and commemorate all the past year memories, including a picture or more of every single precious student and all the staff members in a book also known as the yearbook. Twenty students have worked together in order to accomplish the making of the yearbook. Those talented students were led by a member in the school administration, Mrs. Linda who made sure all the students were doing what they were assigned to do. Some of the assigned jobs for the students were designers, writers, photographers, and editors, in addition to those jobs there were students who gave a second hand in working. Copies of the yearbook are available at school for purchasing.

Final ExamsEvery year CSM school makes sure to have the final exams under control.

The school’s principal Ms.Medya has a role of arranging committees, that consist of leaders and their members to run the whole process before, during and after the finals. Along with the committees, certain steps are set to be followed in order to get everything ready and professionally done. Those teams are responsible of some assigned steps such as copying the exams, arranging the exam halls, collating and stapling exam booklets, placing booklets into their envelops, making daily monitoring schedules, receiving the booklets from the hall monitors, handing the booklets for checking, recording the grades, checking and rechecking. Some of these committees begin work two weeks prior to exams others do know they are a member of a certain of a committee until a day before exams.

This whole process has been accomplished successfully by having an excellent leader and a great team. Everyone worked very hard for about a month to accomplish all the deadlines on time.

International The Classical School of the Medes has an agreement with an American Organization that is headed by Mr. John Nelson . The SGI organization has been in cooperation with CSM since the year of 2001. It assists us in training teachers packing and ordering the school items and shipment , and sending us International Teachers. We are honored to have had with us Mr. David Dillard senior director of SGI for the past 20 years . March of 2019 , Mr. John nelson visited CSM schools to follow up with the teams , his team., and prepare for the next year.
