Roofi ng Starts with Insulfoam

DescriptionInsulRoof SP (InsulFoam SP) is an engineered insulation consisting of a superior closed-cell, lightweight and resilient expanded polystyrene (EPS) with a durable and stable, factory-laminated coated glass facer. InsulRoof SP is available in a nominal density of 1lb/ft3 or 1.25lb/ft3, and meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM C578, Standard Specifi cation for Rigid, Cellular Polystyrene Thermal Insulation. In addition, InsulRoof SP offers a long-term, stable R-value and has excellent dimensional stability, compressive strength and water resistance properties.

UsesInsulRoof SP is specifi cally designed for low-sloped roof applications that employ mechanically fastened or ballasted TPO, PVC and EPDM, as well as low-sloped built-up, modifi ed bitumen and fully adhered single-ply roofs that incorporate cover boards or slip sheets. InsulRoof is also designed for use in fully-adhered fl eeceback systems with compatable adhesives. Please consult local building codes and membrane manufacturers for system requirements.

¡ Proven Performance. EPS has been manufactured using the same chemistry since the mid-1950s, providing proven performance.

¡ Water Resistance. InsulRoof SP does not readily absorb moisture from the environment.

SizesInsulRoof SP is available in several standard thicknesses. Non-standard sizes may also be ordered; InsulRoof SP can be made up to a thickness of 6" (R-26), with a minimum thickness of 2" for 1 lb/ft3 insulation and 1.5" for 1.25 lb/ft3 insulation.

Insulfoam. Insulfoam, a division of Carlisle Construction Materials Incorporated (“Insulfoam”) hereby warrants for a period of 20 years, commencing with the warranty effective date, that the InsulFoam SP thermal resistance (R-value) will meet or exceed the values stated below. If the product is determined by sampling and tests (conducted as provided below) to not meet the warranty values stated below, Insulfoam will, in its sole discretion, either deliver to the Owner a quantity of equivalent Insulfoam product to replace the non-performing Insulation or refund to the Owner the original purchase price of the non-performing Insulation. Insulfoam’s total liability over the life of this warranty shall not exceed the original purchase price of the insulation.

THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND SHALL NOT BE EXTENDED OR ALTERED EXCEPT BY WRITTEN INSTRUMENT SIGNED BY INSULFOAM. THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION SET FORTH IN THIS WARRANTY. INSULFOAM SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR ANY DIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHER DAMAGES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, INCREMENTAL HEATING, COOLING OR SIMILAR COSTS, LOSS OF PROFITS OR DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING OR ITS CONTENTS UNDER ANY THEORY OF LAW WHATSOEVER.

Conditions. Insulfoam’s obligations under this Warranty will only take effect if installed in strict accordance with all applicable Insulfoam specifications, recommendations and guidelines which were in effect at the time of installation. Originals or copies of invoices and bills showing the cost of the InsulFoam SP insulation shall be submitted along with any claims under this Warranty Agreement. Insulfoam’s failure at any time to enforce any terms or conditions stated herein shall not be construed to be a waiver of its right to enforce that term or condition.

Exclusions. This Warranty shall be void if, in Insulfoam’s judgment, the InsulFoam SP’s performance has been impaired by either damage or alterations (lacking prior Insulfoam written approval) to the product. Insulfoam does not warrant the compatibility of the InsulFoam SP with any other products including, but not limited to, any roofing or waterproofing membranes or coatings.

Insulation Testing. All sampling shall be conducted in accordance with sampling procedures prescribed by Insulfoam, and samples of the InsulFoam SP shall only be taken in the presence of an authorized Insulfoam representative. Testing of the InsulFoam SP samples shall be in accordance with ASTM Test Method C518 or the then closest Insulfoam-approved effective equivalent test method. InsulFoam SP samples shall be conditioned to equilibrium prior to testing. All sampling and testing costs (including but not limited to costs of InsulFoam SP uncovering, removal and replacement) shall be at the Owner’s sole expense.

Thermal Values. The InsulFoam SP product will have the following thermal resistance (R-value) on a per

inch basis:
