1.CRYONOMIC® Introduction

„Our products meet the highest customer‘s expectati ons.“ Christophe Cuigniez, General Manager

„ ARTIMPEX SA was founded in 1978 as an industrial contract cleaning company. From the start on finding the best solution to our customers‘ problems has always been our main goal. In the early 90s we discovered dry ice blasting in the United States. We recognised that this fairly new technology was clearly future orientated. Immediately we decided to import dry ice blasting machines into Europe. Very soon our import activities could not further be combined with contract cleaning. In 1992 we decided to optimize the existing technology to improve and adapt it to the quality standards, requirements and expectations of customers in Europe. We became the first European company to manufacture dry ice blasting equipment. Ever since we market our own products - together with accessories - under the brandname CRYONOMIC ®. The level of functionality, efficiency, ergonomics, quality and economic use of our products meet the highest customer‘s expectations. Today we take - and are determined to hold - a leadership position in the global marketplace based on continuous research and development, technical expertise and customer focus.

CRYONOMIC® Technology is developed in Belgium and distributed worldwide. Every day more than 60 qualified and highly motivated CRYONOMIC® Partners are at the disposal of our customers and we constantly further develop our network to be still closer to our customers. ARTIMPEX manufactures quality equipment at competitive prices. Our distributors and agents are trained and experienced professionals who assist you and deliver excellent support and customer service.“ It would be a great pleasure to count you among our customers soon.“

2.Dry Ice Blasting2.1. The economic, ecological and sustainable solution.

Why is dry ice blasting a logical choice ? Introduction

Environmental concerns and legislation developments, continuous production costs monitoring, economic competitiveness and trends towards 'Zero waste' technology, require industry and public authorities - more than ever before - to reassess conventional production, maintenance and cleaning processes. In this light, dry ice blasting provides an environmentally friendly, sustainable and proven solution, increasingly known, sought for, requested and applied – often even technically and economically indispensable - for a constantly growing number of industries and applications.

How does dry ice blasting work ? Principles

Dry ice blasting is similar to sandblasting (or more generally ‘grit or abrasive blasting’); the abrasive is accelerated in a stream of compressed air. Instead of abrasive material dry ice blasting makes use of dry ice pellets, the solid cylinderlike form of recovered carbon dioxide. By its very low temperature (-79 ° C) dry ice itself possesses an important potential of thermal energy, ready to be exploited.

The thermal energy of the dry ice pellets provokes on impact an immediate and instant detachment of the contamination. ('Thermal shock' effect ). At the same time (and immediately) dry ice turns to its gaseous state by increasing in volume by approximately 700 times ('Sublimation' effect), so the contamination is removed quickly without creating any additional waste.

Why is dry ice blasting so beneficial? Arguments

Fast and efficient . Dry ice blasting is significantly faster and more efficient compared to any other cleaning method. In some cases, the time savings are as much as 90%.

Non-abrasive . No wear to the objects cleaned thereby increasing the life of your moulds, machinery and means of production.

Highest Quality . Guaranteed clean, high quality finish of manufactured products. The highest level of cleaning results.

Ecological & economic. Dry ice leaves no trace and does not create additional waste to be processed with significant savings and maximum respect for the environment as a consequence.

Increase in productivity . The application of dry ice blasting creates a substantial increase in productivity of your means of production due to the reduction of downtime as a result of cleaning without disassembly / reassembly, or cooling down.

Ergonomic and safe . Dry ice blasting can be applied safely in an industrial environment through ergonomic machines that significantly improve general methodology and motivation of the operators on the workplace.

The Cool Way Of CleaningThe Cool WayOf Cleaning

In addition to the well known superior capabilities of Cryonomic® dry ice blasters, this new concept allows to take advantage of the abrasive action of grit together with the removal action of dry ice, resulting in :

• Reducing dramatically the quantity of abrasive blasting agent necessary for a particular job. (Reduction down to between 1/10th and 1/50th, depending on the application and the grit being used.)

• Making cleaning up after abrasive blasting much easier and faster.

• Allowing abrasive blasting to the highest possible standards of environmental responsibility.

How does it work?Cryonomic® Dry Ice Gritblasting system is based on R&D and extensive testing proving that combining dry ice with abrasive agents leads to a far more powerful and faster blast cleaning method compared to the cleaning methods separately. In fact applying dry ice reinforces and accelerates the abrasive action of the grit. The system consists of: • the "COB 62plus" Dry Ice Blaster • the stainless steel "Abrasive Module" easily mountable at the front of the machine • additional abrasive granulate hose • a special abrasion resistant nozzle for the standard dry ice cleaning gun MG1004. This Dry Ice Gritblaster is based on the patented CRYONOMIC® + technology of ARTIMPEX NV and meets the new EC machine directive 2006/42/EC (incl 2006/95/EC and 2004/108/EC).

What can you use it for? With the Cryonomic® Dry Ice Gritblasting system you can achieve the same results as conventional grit blasting (Surface after treatment: Sa 2,5) but generally faster and with only a fraction of the waste. It can be used to remove rust, paint, graffiti, to clean buildings, infrastructure and other objects of different nature (wood, metal, stone etc.) that require an abrasive touch.

What kind of abrasive can be used?

Specialised companies selling different types of abrasive agents will be able to advise you the most suitable abrasive for your

application. Every abrasive agent with a diameter between 0,1 mm and 2 mm can be used.

Allowing contract cleaners specialised in dry ice blasting to add a small quantity of grit when circumstances allow and really require abrasive blasting - using one and the same machine.

• Extending the scope of general contract cleaning companies significantly with one machine.

5. Dry Ice Gritblasting

Cryonomic® introduces its new concept for more efficient and ecological abrasive cleaning: dry ice gritblasting, combines both dry ice and a minimum quantity of abrasive agent, to give the only true ecological way of gritblasting.

Reducing considerably the volume of secondary waste to dispose off and consequently reducing costs of waste disposal and - treatment (With only 1.2 to 5 kg of abrasive agent per hour, mixed with 20 to 40 kg of dry ice, you can easily remove paint, rubber, graffiti… or even corrosion from metal surfaces without any dust cloud.) The dry ice completely disappears on impact.

Allowing traditional sandblasting companies to choose between non-abrasive dry ice blasting and ecological abrasive blasting, whatever is most suitable for a specific task.

The CIP 5 is a hydraulic pelletiser with a silent motor. It has interesting features such as an ergonomic touch screen control panel, logging of production parameters, hour counter, displayed machine status, warnings, alarms, buzzer,... The machine also has inputs for a CO2 detector.

For long term storage, we offer 4 containers:• The CIC 500 , CIC 300, CIC 150 and CIC 85 containers are well isolated though light weight

with contents of 500, 300, 150 and 85 litre.

Dry ice containers, flexible dry ice storageFor short term storage, we offer 2 solutions:• The CIC 15 and CIC 30 are portable polystyrene

boxes.

Applications of dry ice pellets:Dry ice cleaning, cooled transport, catering industry, transport of medical goods, declamping of metal parts, smoke generation, carbonic maceration, process cooling, pest control cloud making, …
