Habitat
• Crocodiles are found in rivers and lakes.
• Sometimes they swim out to sea.
Appearance
• Both crocodiles and alligators have a long nose, and powerful jaws full of teeth.
• They have long bodies and tails, which are covered in scales.
Prey / Predators
• Crocodiles eat a large number of different animals.
• They lie in wait for they prey to pass by, then they attack.
• They swallow their prey whole, or break it into smaller pieces.
Communication
• Male crocodiles bellow to attract a female and to scare other males.
Endangered?
• Crocodiles are often hunted for their skin.
• Hunting was controlled in 1970, and since then, numbers have increased.
