Crispin: The Cross of LeadCrispin the

Cross of Lead takes place in the 1300s in England. Crispin is a 13-year-old boy who has been framed for stealing from the manor house. Crispin’s mother has died recently and Crispin is shunned just as his mother was. Because Crispin was accused of stealing, he was declared a Wolf’s Head by the steward, John Aycliffe.

This meant that anyone could kill him at any given time. Father Quinel, Crispin’s only family friend, was killed mysteriously. Crispin enlists the help of a burly man with a fiery red beard who goes by the name of Bear. Bear teaches Crispin music and how to express himself.
