CFM-AP is a CFM model designed for manual presses. It is very accurate to detect almost crimp errors by detecting even very f ine force change at crimping with piezo type strain gauges PSS series (r ing type piezo force sensors are optionally avai lable, too). Smart parameters allow operators to learn al l handl ing and operations in one hour. It can be called as a true user-friendly unit in the world.

What does CFM-AP feature?

Piezo type strain-gauge (PSS series) is used as standard.

PSS force sensors employ pb(Zr·Ti)O3 (piezo ceramic) elements. It senses very fine elongation of press column

at crimping and converts the physical strain for force information. Machine’s strain is very proportional to applied

crimping force and eventually it shows very high detection accuracy. This sensor can be fit on the flat column with

a M6 set screw.

Tyco, JST, JCT and other presses are already equipped with PSS sensors.

Select a flat surface on the press column, then tap a hole

on it and mount the sensor with M6 setscrew with torque

of approx. 7N. The sensor is sensitive to machine

elongation only and senseless against shrinking or any

side forces.

For the frame type presses, put the sensor at the middle

on left or right frame. If the mounting surface is painted

with paint, scratch it off to reveal the metal face, then

mount it.

It learns what the normal crimping forces look like based on several teach-in samples. This becomes the standard to

which all the other crimps will be compared. If peak and area of a curve should be out of set tolerance, it is judged as a

defective one. Force curve difference is monitored for faint errors, too. Following is the image of tools on curve analysis.

Two crimps are required for making the standard in teaching. After that, it

changes to control mode automatically and detects the error crimp. As soon as

the error happens, machine stop signal is output.
