Leo Hallam, Personal Branding
Leo is known for his creative vision. He combines lateral and creative thought, commercial sensitivity and technical ability to help SMEs excel in their promotional communications. Commercial since '97, Leo's been from the drawing board as a junior graphic and web designer to the board room as a creative director. Still hands on today, he offers a valuable and versatile skill set ranging from creative consultation to professional graphic design. After 10 years in an agency environment, Leo recently set up as a sole trader to collaborate directly with teams and individuals. He enjoys working at board and ground level, selflessly injecting enthusiasm and creativity and ultimately, improving results. His ideas are easily accessible and implementation is effective. Leo knows from experience that bringing an idea to life powerfully, cutting through the fog of other 'professionals' and 'processes' can be challenging. And this is where things get personal. "Personal branding isn't just about looking smart - nor is it all about meeting the industry requirements that your audience expects of you. There's a bit more to it than that..." Talking about the challenges and the benefits of personal branding, Leo will lift the lid on his own journey so far - sharing insights on what it takes to be understood, respected, admired and elevated in a broad and competitive landscape.
Andy Harsley – Rapstrap
In 2004, I began developing my innovative rapstrap® tie-strips, and moved to a dedicated workshop-
factory in 2005. Over the next two years, I perfected the design and production methods, and in
August 2008 rapstrap® featured on the BBC Dragons' Den TV series. After securing one of the Den's
biggest ever deals with James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne, rapstrap® has since been put into mass-
production by Japanese multi-national Hitachi-Maxell, and many many millions of rapstrap® are now
sold globally every year.

As well as continuing to develop the rapstrap® technology, I also use its success as a showcase to
inspire other young entrepreneurs in the East Midlands.
Rachael Hobbs, Bridge & Stitch
Bridge & Stitch supports companies looking to manufacture products in the UK. We offer support in
all areas from design development and pattern cutting through to sourcing fabrics and
recommending factories, taking a concept through all stages to a finished product ready for retail;
this includes managing the production process. Bridge & Stitch mainly works with start-ups and
small businesses, as these are the two types of business that require the most guidance as they lack
the skills and experience to produce collections on their own. Bridge & Stitch focuses on UK
production, offering low quantities and making the most of the skills we have to offer in the UK,
helping to revive the dwindling clothing manufacturing industry.
