KEvin FalCon Executive Vice PresidentIn May 2013, British Columbia’s former Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance Kevin Falcon, joined the Anthem team as Anthem Capital’s Executive Vice President. Falcon will play a leadership role in the oversight and growth of Anthem Capital’s business portfolio, and will liaise with Anthem’s financial partners assisting related companies, including Anthem Properties Group, in raising equity funds from institutional and individual investors.

Mr. Falcon served for twelve years in various senior cabinet positions in the BC government. As Minister of State for Deregulation, Falcon led the successful effort to reduce unnecessary red tape by more than 40% in his government’s first mandate. He further served for six years as Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, overseeing the largest transportation capital program in BC’s history, including the SeatoSkyHighwayupgrade,constructionoftheCanadaLine,theWilliamBennettBridge and the Port Mann Bridge. As the Minister of Finance and Deputy Premier ofBritishColumbia,hisextensiveoutreachtoworldcapitalmarketsfollowingtheglobal economic downturn, coupled with his introduction of a fiscally responsible budget, resulted in the re-affirmation of BC's Triple A credit rating.

Fleetwood art UnveilingThis recently unveiled public art piece, titled Gnomon, was installed as a feature in the City of Surrey’s FleetwoodParkGardens.ThesculptureisthefirstartworkcommissionedthroughSurrey’sPrivateDevelopment Public Art Program and was supported by a donation from Anthem Properties Group.

Gnomen is inspired by a sundial and is named after the part of a sundial that casts a shadow. The movement of thisartwork’sshadowdoesn’ttellthehour,ratherpointsto the passage of time in the history of the Fleetwood Community.

"locate" at local on lonsdale Public art award On June 24th, 2013, Anthem will be accepting an award from the City of North Vancouver for the public art piece "Locate"installedatthecornerofLonsdaleand17thinCityofNorthVancouver.AnthemandLoblaw,ourcommercialpartnerontheproject,workedwiththeCity and community to select this art piece to enhance the street scape while providing an artistic counterpoint tothebuildings.Locateisasculptureofaseriesofstainlesssteelframe“houses”arrangedatopsteelpolesofvaryingheights.Thesculpturespeakstothelandscapeof the north shore mountains with the poles representing trees in a forest and the houses, our sense of home.

Powell PlaceAnthem Properties was honored to support Cindy Beedie and her fundraising campaign for Powell Place, a women’s shelter located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Scheduled for completion in early 2014, this expansion will double Powell Place’s current capacity from 26 to 52 beds and will provide support to more than 300 women every year. The expansion will increase women’s access to healthcare, counseling and permanent housing in the Downtown Eastside.
