THE FACTS:• Colorectal Cancer is the
second leading cause of Cancer deaths in the nation, yet it’s the most preventable.
• PA’s colorectal cancer screening rate is just 63%.
• The CDC goal is 80% screened by 2014.
• Patients who have not had CRCS report that a doctor’s recommendation would motivate them to undergo screening.
• Research shows that physicians do not consistently recommend CRCS to each eligible patient.
• Only one-fifth of primary care physicians follow practice guidelines for colorectal cancer screening for all the tests they recommend.
