Crawler tractors in open cast coal mining
Uses of Liebherr large crawler tractorsIn open cast coal mining, crawler tractors are used to loosen and displace excavated material in order to prepare terrain for large excavators and to form and clean roadways.

High pull and pushing forceThe friction-locked and infinitely varia-ble hydrostatic travel drive give Liebherr crawler tractors high pull and pushing forces. This innovative drive system enables simple and safe operation in all work situations.
Outstanding levelling characteristicsCoal mining requires the regular laying of track systems and conveyor belts. The formation level required for the “moving over” are very quickly created by Liebherr crawler tractors.
Device configurationEach Liebherr crawler tractor can be individually configured. In coal mines, crawlers are very of-ten equipped with a U-blade, rear ripper or counterweight and wide track shoes.

Liebherr PR 754 belt reverse crawler. The efficient combination device. The basic machine can be converted into a “belt reverse” crawler in a very short time. This allows long conveyor belt systems to be shifted sideways. This multiple use of machine reduces the amount of devices required and brings about a substantial reduction in costs for the operator.

Strict noise emissions guidelines for certain coal power stations. For power stations located close to cities or residential areas, it is becoming increasingly important to reduce the noise emissions to a minimum for the inhabitants.
Liebherr offers the solution! The PR 764 can be optionallyequipped with a noise reduction packet which helps you to stay well within the European noise emission limits for construction machines. This makes it possible to operate the crawler tractor 24 hours a day.
