Slewing Jib Cranes Heyn Engineering Solutions provides a full range of both wall and pillar slewing jib cranes.

The range starts with Demag’s KBK lightweight jibs, which offer low profile design. These lightweight jibs facilitate ease of movement of both the hoist along the jib arm and the arm about its pivot point.

The range progresses through to our engineered jibs, which provide high capacity combined with high coverage. These jib cranes are available with either chain or rope hoists and have the option of powered motions for slewing mechanism and hoist travel.

All our jib cranes can be tailored to suit outdoor location and can be fitted with a weather protection plan.

KBK Lightweight Crane System

Demag’s lightweight crane system offers easy handling of light loads in production and maintenance applications. The design of the track and suspensions affords low friction of moving loads combined with reduced loading onto support structures.

The KBK system is adaptable and can be altered to suit progressive factory layouts. It can be used to construct simple monorails, more complex interlocking monorail systems and both single & double girder cranes.

The complete range of track sections are available from KBK 100 to KBK 111 and all systems can be manually travelled or powered by special friction drive units.

Both KBK 11 and KBK 111 are available with integrated busbar systems to allow multiple cranes on a single system and also to avoid hanging cables on low installation.

Demag Wheels and Drives

Demag’s history of load handling has allowed it to develop the wheel block range. A modular system, which can be adapted to moving all manner of loads from simple travel bogies to opening stadium roofs.

A range of wheels from 112 mm diameter to 500 mm diameter gives high load carrying capacity and, coupled with Demag’s range of geared motors, allows users to have control over all moving loads. The wheels are available with a variety of thread designs with optional guide rollers.

Heyn Engineering Solutions have used this system to develop a range of skip removal systems, which allow operators to safely remove skips from under inclined conveyors. They have been used in various treatment works and factories.

There are a wide range of Demag geared motors available, which include standard cylindrical and special conical brake motors. The Demag conical rotor allows a self-sustaining brake, which does not rely on a separate power source to activate the brake.

The geared motor range is complimented with Demag’s inverter drives.

Chain and Rope Hoists

Heyn Engineering Solutions are able to offer a hoist for every job. Our experience in all applications, from manufacturing to food production and the maintenance of utility sites, allows us to select the correct hoist with best duty and speeds for your application.

The Demag DCM Manulift is ideal for production lines, where quick handling of low weight items is required. The integrated hook and control handle allows the operator to have accurate and fast control over the load.

The DC Chain Hoist is a high quality product for all applications. It comes with Demag’s adjustable, quick chain pendant controller and has a unique error message facility to allow diagnosis of faults from the remote.

To compliment the DC range is the DC Wind Hoist, designed for maintenance applications in wind turbines. It offers high speeds combined with low headroom and high chain capacity.

Demag’s new DR Rope Hoist completes the range. The hoist can be supplied as a foot-mounted hoist, a travelling monorail hoist or as part of a crane set. SEW Eurodrive Geared Motors & Drives

As the appointed agent for SEW Eurodrive, Heyn Engineering Solutions offer the full range of SEW products, including geared motors, servo motors, inverter drives and industrial gear units.

It is possible to have standard units built to order in a modern UK production facility and special delivery arrangements are available.

Demag Components

Heyn Engineering Solutions offer a full range of crane components to suit the materials handling range.

There is a range of conductor systems, which includes festoon cable systems, suitable for short travel distances of up to 30 metres. There is also an enclosed busbar system available for longer distances and in situations where multiple units require a power supply. All systems can be used for any travelling machine.

Demag’s robust DST pendants, with conventional switching, are available from 3 button up to 9 button versions. For situations where the operator needs to be remote from the crane, Heyn has a range of hand held remote control systems to shoulder mounted joystick remotes.

The DSG rotary limit switch and DGSG housed version are suitable for lifting applications where fine and repeatable control of switching is required.

Lifting Accessories

Bow Shackles (with screw collar pin)Shackles are used in lifting and static systems as removable links to connect steel wire rope, chain and other fittings. Screw pin shackles are mainly for non-permanent applications. Safety bolt shackles are used for long-term or permanent applications, or where the load may slide on the pin causing rotation of the pin.

Eyebolts (metric coarse thread)Eyebolts, eyenuts and bownuts are available in various types and sizes and are used for lifting machines, appliances or any other objects which cannot be lifted by hand or fork truck. Heyn offers a wide range of lifting eyebolts, eyenuts and bownuts, from M6 to M72, with working load limits ranging from 0.07 tons up to 25 tons Larger sizes can be supplied on request.

Wire Rope Grips (heavy duty)Wire rope grips are used on wire rope eye-loop connections, complete loop or end-to-end connections, where socketing or splicing is not feasible. Grade 8 Chain SlingsChain Slings are custom made to match your exact requirements. Heyn supply several chain sling types including; single slings, double slings, three leg slings and four leg slings. Chain diameters range from 7mm to 32mm to cater for a wide range of load capacities and all chain slings are grade 8 standard. There is also a choice of hooks including; single hooks with safety catch, ‘C’ hooks, self-locking hooks and extra grab shortening hooks.

Web SlingsGeneral-purpose flat slings constructed of 100% heavy-duty polyester webbing, utilized in choker, vertical and basket hitches. These slings are lightweight, less likely to scratch or damage the load, resist mildew and bacterial growth, and have excellent elongation properties versus their nylon counterparts.

Round SlingsOur most versatile sling to date, the round sling is constructed of high tenacity polyester fibres which are protected by a durable polyester cover. The very nature of our round slings offer greater flexibility, moulding to irregular loads, and have a very low weight ratio versus more traditional chain and wire options.

Lashing ChainsLoad lashing or load restraint is a vital component for the safe transport of goods whether by road, rail or sea. Outside forces applied to the load, caused by the effects of breaking, accelerating or cornering, have a dramatic effect on how the load is to be restrained. BS EN 12195 Parts 1 to 4 were introduced to provide a means of conforming to the essential safety requirements for lashing and load restraint in the Common European market and thus enabling the free movement of goods. TRACTEL

TRACTEL equipment reduces the physical effort required for lifting and handling operations, which improves working conditions and makes operations safer.

TRACTEL HarnessA TRACTEL fall harness is a device to hold the body and is designed to stop a fall. For this, the harness must be connected to a fall arrest device, which is in turn connected to an anchor. A TRACTEL rescue harness is a device to hold the body and is designed for rescue operations. Due to a person’s specific ergonomics, the user is held in a suitable position during rescue. The harness must be connected to a lowering device or a rescue hoist, which is in turn connected to an anchor. In certain cases, the fall arrest safety harness may also be used as a rescue harness; it may also be equipped with a holding or maintenance work belt.

Lanyards The webbing lanyard with an energy absorber is used as a connecting element between a fixed or mobile anchorage point and the attachment point on the harness. The energy absorber safely stops a fall from a height. Without a shock absorber, a free fall of more than 50cm can cause serious injuries.

Galvanised BlocforThe blocfor range ensures an automatic braking function in the event of a fall; the fall height is restricted by the immediate brake reaction. The cable length is adjusted automatically thanks to a recall system integrated in to the device, which offers the user a great deal of freedom of movement. The blocfor also operates horizontally with a webbing lanyard – code 035032 – placed between the cable and the harness. The blocfor range complies with the EN360 Standard.

TRAVSAFEWith its two cables, the TRAVSAFE lifeline is the most effective on the market. It ensures perfect slider movement without manual intervention, while effortlessly crossing the intermediary cable support posts, located at a maximum of every 15m. Located on the ground or a supporting post, the TRAVSAFE lifeline enables its user to move to each side without changing the slider position. Due to its new Dual Material absorber rings, the TRAVSAFE lifeline dissipates the stresses generated in the cable during a fall. The TRAVSAFE lifeline can be used by 5 people. It can be installed under a ceiling, on a wall or on the ground.

Machine MovingMachine moving and factory relocation is a highly specialised business, involving the movement of both costly and sensitive equipment, often over long distances. Each factory movement is unique and necessitates a consultation period with the customer to discuss the most efficient methods of removing equipment, while minimising any loss of production time. Following a site visit, Heyn’s specialists will advise on the costs and methods of carrying out the relocation and the siting of machinery. A team of fully supervised engineers, including riggers, fitters and technicians will dismantle, package and containerise the machinery, as required. Heyn Engineering Solutions can then take full advantage of the skills of sister company Heyn Shipping Solutions, to provide cost-effective sea transport on flatbeds, lo-loaders or containers. On arrival, the team off-loads, positions and fully installs the machinery ready for commissioning. Heyn’s machine moving service ranges from the installation of a single piece of machinery or equipment into a local site to the international relocation of a complete factory.
