About CowParade
Everyone has a story.We’re no different, except that our story involves a colourful herd of life-sized cow sculptures painted by some of the most talented artists from around the world. Since 1999, it’s grown to include over 6000 artists with events hosted in over 80 cities. CowParade has become the world’s largest public art phenomenon.
CowParade events aim to inspire, uplift and reach as many people as possible. It revives the spirit of community, bringing together residents of each host city, with artists, local businesses and non-profit organisations all supporting and benefitting from the event. The event also pulls in large numbers of outside visitors to the host city.
The artistic goal is to inspire curiosity, thought and discussion amongst visitors whilst showcasing local, artistic talent. To achieve this, we begin by inviting local artists to submit original designs which are compiled into a portfolio. Local event organisers and sponsors then select the artists who transform their two-dimensional designs into life-sized cow masterpieces.
The heart of CowParade lies in the diverse range of replica cow models that you see in this catalogue. They are truly works of art; flawless reproductions of some of the most beloved and inspired life sized cows taken from any of our 80+ events around the world.
Exact copies of the life-sized cows, displayed at city events, are available for sale to the public. Made from polyresin or ceramic, the majority have been hand-painted and painstakingly reproduced. Sizes available are Extra Large, Large, Medium Resin, Medium Ceramic and Small.
Each exclusive model comes packaged in its own box with a card detailing the name of the artist and the CowParade city in which it appeared. We select a range of new models from the latest CowParade events and simultaneously retire some of the older models. This way the collection remains up-to-date and retains its exclusivity.

Product informat ion
The production of CowParade cows is an intricate and challenging process. Considering each figurine is an exact replica of a life sized original of one of our worldwide CowParade events, the details must be reproduced as closely to perfection as possible.
Every six months our team of CowParade devotees selects a number of new cows that appeared in an event somewhere around the world. Those selected will be added to the CowParade Herd.
The selected cows are photographed and sent to the design team who carefully produce 3D clay models to ensure every detail is well-presented. The clay models are then used to create a production mould for each specific cow.
We now have over 500 moulds. The mould produces clean, white CowParade cows (already beauties we think!). A final sand papering and dusting, and the white models are ready for painting.
We carefully hand paint a large majority of our cows. Not only do we take pride in reproducing the model, the labour of love lies in accurately replicating the original, painted design of a life-sized cow.
The artwork can be too intricate on occasion even for our talented painters. In that case we use a decal, a specially made sticker specific to that cows design.
After the cows are painted, they need a few days to dry before we place them into a low-temperature oven. Most of the time a lacquer is applied to protect the model in transit; and so begins our miniature work of art’s global journey en route to its new owner.
How to take care of the CowParade figurines is a frequent question we receive.
We recommend not to put the cow in direct sunlight, this might damage the paint or over time change the colours.

The materials we use in our production of cows are;
PolyresinA sturdy material that can be intricately moulded, this is perfect material for creating very complicated and delicate details on some CowParade models.
It takes paint well, and has a similar appearance to porcelain and pottery. We use this material to make our Extra Large, Large, Medium Polyresin and Small cows in the collection.
CeramicThis noble and ancient material is a little more fragile but a better-suited canvas for detailed and intricate artwork.
We have dedicated an entire section for medium sized cows in the collection made of ceramic.
