Families First Coronavirus Response Act
• Defined: Requires that certain employers provide employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19.
• Also known as FFCRA.

COVID-19 specific leave Rate of pay Criteria available
2 weeks (80 hours) Regular rate of pay Unable to work because the employee is quarantined (by Federal, State, or local government order or advice of a health care provider) and/or experiencing COVD-19 1-time usesymptoms and seeking a medical diagnosis.
2 weeks (80 hours) 2/3 of regular rate of Unable to work because of a bona fide need to care for an individual subject to quarantine (pursuant to Federal, State, or local government order or advice of a health 1-time use pay care provider), or to care for a child (under 18 years of age) whose school or child care provider is closed or unavailable for reasons related to COVID-19.

childcare for a child (under 18 years of age) whoseschool or childcare provider is closed or unavailable forreasons related to COVID-19. – you must provideproof of closure of childcare provider.
• At this time, medical documentation is not requiredfor the 1 time, 80 hours of paid leave through FFCRA.

Leave Without Pay (LWOP)
Requires letter in writing to the Superintendent. Approval/denial is decided by the Superintendent.
1-year limit
All types of paid leave require medical documentation.
At this time, medical documentation is not required for the 1 time, 80 hours of paid leave through FFCRA.
