    5. How to Protect Yourself & Others from this virus ?

    Know how it spreads:

There is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

o Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).

o Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes

    or talks.

o These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or

possibly be inhaled into the lungs.

o Some recent studies have suggested that COVID-19 may be spread by people who

    are not showing symptoms.

    Everyone Should :

    Wash your hands often

Wash your hands often with soap and

water for at least 20 seconds especially

after you have been in a public place, or

after blowing your nose, coughing, or

    sneezing.

If soap and water are not readily

available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of

your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

    Avoid close contact:

Avoid close contact with people who are sick, even

with your home. If possible, maintain 6 feet between

the person who is sick and other household members.

Put distance between yourself and other people outside of your home.

o Remember that some people without symptoms may be able to spread virus.

o Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms‘ length) from other people.

o Do not gather in groups.

o Stay out of crowded places and avoid mass gatherings.

o Keeping distance from others is especially important for people who are at higher

    risk of getting very sick.

  • P a g e 8 | 36

Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover when around others:

You could spread COVID-19 to others even if you do

    not feel sick.

Everyone should wear a cloth face cover when they have

to go out in public, for example to the grocery store or to

    pick up other necessities.

o Cloth face coverings should not be placed on

young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious,

incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

The cloth face cover is meant to protect other people in case you are infected.

Do NOT use a facemask meant for a healthcare worker.

Continue to keep about 6 feet between yourself and others. The cloth face cover is not a

    substitute for social distancing.

    Cover coughs and sneezes:

If you are in a private setting and do not have on your cloth face covering,

remember to always cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or

sneeze or use the inside of your elbow.

Throw used tissues in the trash.

Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and

water are not readily available, clean your hands with a hand sanitizer that contains at

    least 60% alcohol.

    Clean and disinfect:

Clean AND disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables,

doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets,

    faucets, and sinks.

If surfaces are dirty, clean them. Use detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.

    Then, use a household disinfectant

  • P a g e 9 | 36

    Monitor Your Health:

Be alert for symptoms. Watch for fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of

    COVID-19.

o Especially important if you are running essential errands, going into the office or

workplace, and in settings where it may be difficult to keep a physical distance of

    6 feet.

Take your temperature if symptoms develop.

o Do not take your temperature within 30 minutes of exercising or after taking

medications that could lower your temperature, like acetaminophen.

    6. How COVID-19 Spreads ?

COVID-19 spreads mainly through close contact with person-to-person. Some people without

symptoms may be able to spread the virus. We are still learning about how the virus spreads and

the severity of illness it causes.

    Person-to-person spread:

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.

Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).

Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks.

These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be

    inhaled into the lungs.

COVID-19 may be spread by people who are not showing symptoms.

The virus spreads easily between people:

How easily a virus spreads from person-to-person can vary. Some viruses are highly contagious,

like measles, while other viruses do not spread as easily. Another factor is whether the spread is

sustained, which means it goes from person-to-person without stopping.

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.htmlhttps://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/essential-goods-services.htmlhttps://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/social-distancing.htmlhttps://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/social-distancing.htmlhttps://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/social-distancing.html

The virus that causes COVID-19 is spreading very easily and sustainably between

people. Information from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic suggest that this virus is spreading

more efficiently than influenza, but not as efficiently as measles, which is highly contagious.

    The virus may be spread in other ways;

It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has

the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. This is not

thought to be the main way the virus spreads, but we are still learning more about how this virus

    spreads.

    Spread between animals and people

At this time, the risk of COVID-19 spreading from animals to people is considered to be

low. Learn about COVID-19 and pets and other animals.

It appears that the virus that causes COVID-19 can spread from people to animals in

some situations. CDC is aware of a small number of pets worldwide, including cats and

dogs, reported to be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, mostly after close

contact with people with COVID-19. Learn what you should do if you have pets.

    7. Who may get affected fast?

The virus that causes COVID-19 infects people of all ages.

However, evidence to date suggests that two groups of people are at a higher risk of getting

severe COVID-19 disease. These are older people (that is people over 60 years old); and those

with underlying medical conditions (such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory

    disease, and cancer).

The risk of severe disease gradually increases with age starting from around 40 years. It‘s

important that adults in this age range protect themselves and in turn protect others that may be

    more vulnerable.

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/animals/pets-other-animals.htmlhttps://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/pets.html

  • Additional guidance is available for those living in close quarters and shared housing.

WHO has issued advice for these two groups and for community support to ensure that they are

protected from COVID-19 without being isolated, stigmatized, left in a position of increased

vulnerability or unable to access basic provisions and social care.

This advice covers the subject of receiving visitors, planning for supplies of medication and

food, going out safely in public and staying connected with others through phone calls or other

means. It is essential that these groups are supported by their communities during the COVID-19

outbreak. WHO emphasizes that all people must protect themselves from COVID-19, which will

    also protect other.

    8. Steps to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 if you are sick.

If you are sick with COVID-19 or think you might have COVID-19, follow the steps below to

care for yourself and to help protect other people in your home and community.

Stay home except to get medical care:

Stay home. Most people with COVID-19 have mild illness and can recover at home

without medical care. Do not leave your home, except to get medical care. Do not visit

    public areas.

Take care of yourself. Get rest and stay hydrated. Take over-the-counter medicines,

such as acetaminophen, to help you feel better.

Stay in touch with your doctor. Call before you get medical care. Be sure to get care if

you have trouble breathing, or have any other emergency warning signs, or if you think it

    is an emergency.

Avoid public transportation, ride-sharing, or taxis.

    Separate yourself from other people:

As much as possible, stay in a specific room and away from other people and pets in your

home. If possible, you should use a separate bathroom. If you need to be around other people or

animals in or outside of the home, wear a cloth face covering.

See COVID-19 and Animals if you have questions about pets.

    Monitor your symptoms:

Symptoms of COVID-19 fever, cough, or other symptoms.

Follow care instructions from your healthcare provider and local health

department. Your local health authorities may give instructions on checking your

    symptoms and reporting information.

When to Seek Emergency Medical Attention:

Look for emergency warning signs* for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these

signs, seek emergency medical care immediately

    Trouble breathing

Persistent pain or pressure in the chest

    New confusion

Inability to wake or stay awake

    Bluish lips or face

*This list is not all possible symptoms. Please call your medical provider for any other symptoms

that are severe or concerning to you.

Call 911 or call ahead to your local emergency facility: Notify the operator that you are

seeking care for someone who has or may have COVID-19.

Call ahead before visiting your doctor:

Call ahead. Many medical visits for routine care are being postponed or done by phone

    or telemedicine.

If you have a medical appointment that cannot be postponed, call your doctor’s

office, and tell them you have or may have COVID-19. This will help the office protect

    themselves and other patients.

If you are sick wear a cloth covering over your nose and mouth:

You should wear a cloth face covering, over your nose and mouth if you must be

around other people or animals, including pets (even at home)

You don‘t need to wear the cloth face covering if you are alone. If you can‘t put on a

cloth face covering (because of trouble breathing, for example), cover your coughs and

sneezes in some other way. Try to stay at least 6 feet away from other people. This will

help protect the people around you.

Cloth face coverings should not be placed on young children under age 2 years, anyone

who has trouble breathing, or anyone who is not able to remove the covering without

    help.

    Cover your coughs and sneezes:

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.

Throw away used tissues in a lined trash can.

Immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and

water are not available, clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that

    contains at least 60% alcohol.

    Clean your hands often:

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. This is especially

important after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing; going to the bathroom; and

    before eating or preparing food.

Use hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. Use an alcohol-based hand

sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol, covering all surfaces of your hands and rubbing them

    together until they feel dry.

  • P a g e 14 | 36

Soap and water are the best option, especially if hands are visibly dirty.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

    Avoid sharing personal household items:

Do not share dishes, drinking glasses, cups, eating utensils, towels, or bedding with other

    people in your home.

Wash these items thoroughly after using them with soap and water or put in the

    dishwasher.

    Clean all “high-touch” surfaces everyday:

Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces in your ―sick room‖ and bathroom; wear

disposable gloves. Let someone else clean and disinfect surfaces in common areas, but

you should clean your bedroom and bathroom, if possible.

If a caregiver or other person needs to clean and disinfect a sick person‘s bedroom or

bathroom, they should do so on an as-needed basis. The caregiver/other person should

wear a mask and disposable gloves prior to cleaning. They should wait as long as

possible after the person who is sick has used the bathroom before coming in to clean and

    use the bathroom.

High-touch surfaces include phones, remote controls, counters, tabletops, doorknobs, bathroom

fixtures, toilets, keyboards, tablets, and bedside tables.

Clean and disinfect areas that may have blood, stool, or body fluids on them.

Use household cleaners and disinfectants. Clean the area or item with soap and water

or another detergent if it is dirty. Then, use a household disinfectant.

o Be sure to follow the instructions on the label to ensure safe and effective use of

the product. Many products recommend keeping the surface wet for several

minutes to ensure germs are killed. Many also recommend precautions such as

wearing gloves and making sure you have good ventilation during use of the

    product.

  • P a g e 15 | 36

o Most EPA-registered household disinfectants should be effective. A full list of

    disinfectants can be found.

    14. Things to be considered by employees after continuing work in covid-19.

Covid-19 had totally changed the way of working, the way of communication, and way of living.

Due to suddenly changed scenario during this pandemic has also shown different options,

different ideas, and innovations. However, by considering long term negative impact of Covid-

19 pandemic in economic, social, political and technological as well as positive impact on

environment is crucial for Employer and Employee both.

However, Considering Long term impact of pandemic, the union health ministry‘s new

notification said that, ―We must learn to live with coronavirus.‖ And ―This virus will be with us

for long time‖ said Tedros Adhanom Director general of the World Health Organization.

So, while many countries like Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, France and also India who have

given small relaxation to their people from curfew and lockdown and in future they will also

focus on handling Economic condition by starting Industries and Businesses. In this time lack of

social distancing will be there and the risk of infection will be increase.

But with proper planning and making proper policies from both side employees as well as

employers. Many research institutes, media agencies, research and analysis software, etc. have

done many researches about what are the points an employee should consider while starting their

    work while lockdown open.

Considering all researches and guidelines to understand easily we can divide all steps in 3 major

    parts as explained below.

    1. Steps an employee should consider before entering in organization.

In this part such guidelines which employee should follow from his residence to starting

his work in organization, which include transportation from home to office and things to

    remember before reaching to organization.

    2. Steps an employee should follow in organization.

This step includes to consider and follow all the steps which is given by Government and

as per Company policy also. It is also including extra care taken by employee above all

    given guideline.

    3. Steps an employee should follow after completing daily work in organization.

This step includes things to follow after completing all work in organization and before

reaching his/her residence. It is also including what to do after reaching home daily after

    work done at office.

Before thinking about, how an employee should take such precautions to stay away from

infection and Continue to do their job as they were doing as productively as before lockdown

such thinking and mindset should be followed by every employee for sack of his/her self and for

others also. Which should be as below.

Every employee in organization must meet each other almost after few months so in first

day of restarting work every one will meet them closely; they will talk and so on. for that

every employee must follow guideline given by organization to maintain social

    distancing.

Before starting and after completing work everyone will face traffic and pollution in their

transportation, everyone should follow such steps strongly when ever they are out of their

HOME. Which includes travelling and time spend in organization.

At last when an employee goes out from home, he/she must consider one thing that

anyone out from his/her home which may be in society, on road, in shops, in

organization, wherever an employee he/she can be surrounded by Corona virus infected

person whether he/she is your neighbour, your colleague, or your Boss. Everyone‘s mind-

set should be strongly like this. Because this thinking will not scare an employee but will

    tell, how to take care.

Step 1: Steps an employee should consider before entering in organization.

As above given overview this step includes precautions and things to remember between home to

    office way.

    1. According to World Health Organization (WHO) one should Cover mouth and nose with

mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask.

Before putting on a mask, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

Avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based

hand rub or soap and water.

  • P a g e 24 | 36

To remove the mask: remove it from behind (do not touch the front of mask); discard

immediately in a closed bin; clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

WHO also suggested that If you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask if you are

taking care of a person with COVID-19. Wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing.

Above mentioned suggestions were also given by Indian Health Ministry and according

to rules and regulations every citizen must wear mask whenever they go out from their

    home.

    2. Which mask is more effective?

According to TRT World Turkish state international News channel, there are different

kind of Masks are Effective against COVID-19.

N- 95 Mask: The United States National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health

(NIOSH) has standardized N95 face masks. The ―N‖ stands for ―not resistant to oil,‖

while ―95‖ represents its minimum 95 percent filter capacity for catching viruses as

    small as 0.3 Microns.

But for Covid-19 patients or suspects, the N95 attached with an extension is not an

ideal choice since they need to use one without an exhalation valve so that their

cough or sneeze droplets are blocked inside the mask.

There are some other standardized face masks by NIOSH (The National Institute for

Occupational Safety and Health US) that are N99, N100, which claim to filter 99 and

99.97 percent of airborne particles, respectively.

Face Filtering Piece (FFP): Face Filtering Piece (FFP) face masks are a rage in

Europe. They are divided into three categories, FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3. According to

the European standards, each type can filter 80, 94 and 99.95 particles down to 0.3

microns. They are equivalent to N95 in Europe.

Surgical masks: Surgical masks are generally used to protect the wearer from large-

particle droplets, sprays and splashes. It also prevents potential infectious respiratory

secretions to others. However, it is considered to be weak against the coronavirus.

So, employee should wear such types of mask or cloths covering entire face include

mouth and nose can be beneficial.

    3. Now, what to use hand sanitizer or soap and water?

A number of researches has done by various organizations like WHO and Centres for

Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Harvard medical school, THE GUARDIAN and

ALLURE an American women‘s magazine focused on beauty and hygiene on the use of

hand sanitizers and soap and water, which shows disagreement among different

researchers. However, soap and water has proven superior to Hand sanitizers.

Hand sanitizers and usage of soap and water has different advantages and dis-advantages,

hand sanitizers are very useful when it contains 60% to 95% alcohol, it is very convenient

and have ability to combat germs when water and soap are not immediately available.

Hand sanitizers are active against all types of viruses except norovirus, which cause a

certain type of diarrhea according to ALLURE, also homemade hand sanitizers are

prescribed by experts according to Athanasios Merisotis, a physician with Penn Medicine

at the University of Pennsylvania, in interview with ALLURE.

"Hand sanitizer may kill viruses and certain bacteria, but it does not 'clean' your hands

like soap and water do," says, Athanasios Merisotis, "Sanitizer doesn't remove actual dirt

and debris. Soap kills germs, binds them, and helps physically remove them, with the

water, off your skin and down the drain."

Whatever we use either hand sanitizer or washing hand with soap and water, one must

    know correct method to use.

WHO guidelines clarifies that hand-sanitizer users should rub their right palm over the

back of the left hand with interlaced fingers (and vice versa), rub palm to palm with

fingers interlaced, and rub the backs of fingers to the opposing palms with fingers

interlocked, and so not only do you have to have enough, the alcohol needs to hang

around long enough to work, recommending that you rub your hands with sanitizer until

    they fully air-dry.

While washing hands with soap and water one must rub hands for at least 20 seconds,

which is effective way to clean hand not only visibly but by killing germs also.

So while at home, travelling from home to office or coming back to home from outside as

per given guideline of organization, one should use hand sanitizer or soap and water

    whichever is available.

    https://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/tools/who_guidelines-handhygiene_summary.pdf

  • P a g e 26 | 36

As per review of University of Michigan there is no evidence that how frequently you

should use hand sanitizer or soap and water, but when you see your hands are visibly

dirty you must wash your hand and after touching any surface, traveling or doing any

work in which you were in contact of any person.

    4. According to Research on Harvard Business review, Harvard University has given priority

for flexible working hours and tele work (Work from home). An employee should not go out

from his/her residence if he/she has minor symptoms like flu, fever: A fever defined as a

temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or 38 degrees Celsius taken by an oral thermometer

    cough, aches etc.

    5. Employee should surely install AROGYA-SETU Mobile application to get update about

infected persons as well as assess frequently to check his/her safety and also inspire other to

    download it.

    6. Employee must travel to office by their own vehicle and do not use public transportation or

    in vehicle of him/her colleague.

Step: 2: Steps an employee should follow in organization.

As above discussed, first employee should follow all the rules, which is beneficial for

him/her, and people surrounded to him/her as per guideline given by organization and

    government.

After reaching to Organization employee must have to follow such rules as in firm more

people will stay in contact and will exchange different things, material etc.

At that time, any person who has minor symptoms of Covid-19 can spread droplets to

everywhere in office if they have not worn mask and do not wash hand frequently by soap

    and water.

Limeade a software company helps build great places to work, by tools and programs,

mentioned that when crisis happens, caring for your employees is a top priority, an

  • P a g e 27 | 36

employee should keep him/her self-informed about important updates and the information

they need to stay safe and feel connected to the organization. When there is care in

organization as per their research 50% people say that stress is manageable and it reduces

    stress and burnout.

After so much time apart, socializing can go one of two ways for employees. Some might

feel awkward, as if they are meeting their co-workers for the first time all over again.

Others might have missed their colleagues so much that they will risk their health and

    productivity to catch up.

Employee must stay connected with their colleague emotionally when firm will start

working every employee feels enthusiasm and productive but with that, they will come in

close contact too. As an employee, one should take care of these things. Such other points

    must consider as mentioned below,

According to Finance monthly a global publication delivering news, analysis related to

corporate sector stated that the more time your employees spend outside of their homes, the

more opportunities for infection they will encounter, and it will not take long for a single

COVID-stricken employee to infect your entire workforce. Keep in mind that even if a

carrier only has a mild case of COVID-19, the people they spread the virus to can have far

    more serious cases.

Every employee should get voluntarily be checked temperature at the entrance of the

    office.

Spitting, eating guthaka, tobacco, or chewing gum is prohibited within workplace.

Employee should use mobile service, telecom instead of personal meeting with other

    employees, stakeholders or any visitor.

Each employee has to take all essentials item by his or her own including water, tea, coffee,

    etc.

During lunch break, also employee should maintain 6 feet distance and many people should

    not take lunch together.

Employee should use own things and ask to authorized person to provide essential

stationary, files and other daily useful things which come in contact with many people.

Employee should not touch surface of such things like tables, door handles, files, glasses,

    other appliances without disinfect it.

  • P a g e 28 | 36

Every employee should dry their hand after washing with soap and water for 20 seconds by

paper towel, Worm hand dryer or jet air dryer whatever available in organization however,

as per experiment done by national centre for Biotechnology Information, paper towel are

less likely to spread viruses than jet dryers.

According to I-Sight a management solution provider, wrote article about personal hygiene

and cleanliness in workplace stated that employee should take care of cleanliness around

    him/her more precisely than before

According to HBR (Harvard Business Review), Essential personnel working on campus

should maintain physical distance from others of at least 6 feet. Those with an underlying

health condition or concern may formally request a change in job duties, location, hours,

etc. by contacting local human resources.

An employee must disinfect such things and not only transported finished goods but also

raw material which coming from other place and should contact authorized person for any

requirement as per Bloomberg a data and Media Company.

Every employee should consider that if anyone violate safe practices, they are to remind them

of proper protocol with a polite, ―Please.‖ For example, ―Please wear a mask when you‘re in

    the office.‖

Spectrum Health in West Michigan worked for months to encourage caregivers to issue

reminders. When they asked reminder recipients to say thank you and comply, hand hygiene

practice improved by more than 60% within a matter of weeks.

Therefore, these are such things an employee should take care and influence other to take

care because they all have to consider situation of workplace, infection as well as their

responsibility toward organization and their people.

Step:3 Step an employee should follow after completing daily work in organization.

As taken care of him/herself at starting day, work and in transportation employee must

finish day with more precisely and well care. There are some points with an employee

must consider if by mistake he/she came in close contact with corona infected person

during his/her travelling or in office also so, he/she can save him /herself and their family

    members to be infected.

  • P a g e 29 | 36

Employee must leave office by washing face and hand.

He/she must wear full mouth and nose covering mask and hand gloves by travelling.

Employee must go back to home by his or her own vehicle and do not use public

transportation or in vehicle of him/her colleague.

Employee must carry a sanitizer or soap and water, so whenever is needed he/she can use

it on hand also by leaving office he/she must sanitize and disinfect vehicle handle first

    before touching it.

Person should not forget any valuable thing or necessary things like lunch box, purse,

    keys etc.

Employee should not stay on road or without his/her destination without any emergency

    or necessary work.

Employee must Ring up home when you few minutes away from home, so that one

member can open door for you and you do not need to touch calling bell or door handle.

A bucket of water with washing powder or bleaching powder added to it on the front

    door.

When you reach home keep things in vehicle keys, pen, sanitizer bottle, phone in box and

    remove shoes outside the house.

Wash your hands in the bucket and stand in the water for 5 minutes. Meanwhile use

tissue and sanitizer and wipe the items you placed in the box.

Wash your hands again with soap water again and enter the house without touching

    anything.

The bathroom door should be kept open by someone and bucket of detergent soap water

to be kept ready. You take off all your clothes and soak inside the bucket at least for 15

    minutes.

Then take a head bath with shampoo and body bath with soap.

Wash your clothes and dry them in direct sunlight.

Again, wash your hands for 20 seconds.

An employee must follow these whole steps.
