Movement of people in different locations of Dubai (% change compared to baseline)*
Google Mobility Data show that in Dubai people are slowly starting to move around more. Data suggest that
walking and driving activities in grocery, retail and workplaces are starting to steadily increase, compared to
a month ago. Transit use and walking in parks are also picking up, but not by as much. The trend for the first 2
weeks of May shows that Dubai steadily goes back to its baseline levels of activity,

Total number of departed and scheduled flights from DXB airport (weekly comparison)
Latest Fligtradar24 data show that the total number of departed flights from DXB airport increased from 91 in
the second week of May to 111 in the third week of May (22% week-on-week growth). An increase in flight
movement volumes may provide leading signals into the broader economy returning to normalcy.
Moreover, an increase in scheduled flights may indicate stability in the industry and economic upturn.

Total number of posted jobs in Dubai, according to LinkedIn
According to LinkedIn, the total number of posted jobs in Dubai increased from 254 in the second week of
May to 266 in the third week of May (4.7% week-on-week growth). Furthermore, the weekly growth for IT jobs
in Dubai was 10.4% between the 2nd and 3rd week of May, which can lead to the development of the digital
economy in the Emirate. Besides, some job sites (e.g. Bayt.com) have now added “Work From Home” option,
which indicates that companies are willing to hire talents remotely.

According to the latest YouGov data, the proportion of respondents in UAE who are very or fairly scared of
catching COVID-19 has fallen from 73% on April 29 to 70% on May 4 (3 percentage point drop), indicating
the increase of confidence among UAE population. In addition, the percentage of the population who
avoid going to public places dropped 3-points to 79% on April 29, showing the rising of activity growth in UAE.
