Sean Elizabeth Edwards Bachelor of Arts Psychology – cum laude Florida Institute of Technology – Class of 2015 [email protected] 941-932-0835 To Whom It May Concern: I am a recent graduate of Florida Institute of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Neuropsychology. At Florida Tech I gained many skills and techniques related to the psychology and research field. My goal is to continue my education and go on to graduate school and obtain my PhD but would like some work experience before I do so. I believe I could do very well in many settings, as I have many leadership and team skills from being a collegiate athlete all four years of my undergraduate career, along with working on research teams. I know how to be disciplined and how important it is to work as a team. Along with this, I am very passionate about working in a health related field and helping others who may not be able to help themselves. I have also obtained some clinical experiences through my internships at Bramble Psychotherapy Associates and The Scott Center for Autism. I got to work directly with clients and see diagnosis and therapeutic techniques first hand. I particularly enjoyed working at the Autism center and seeing how the clients could progress in such a short period of time. During my undergraduate experienced I gained an exponential amount of knowledge on how to deal with all different types of populations that I believe could be applied to real world experiences. As well as working in clinical settings, I got the opportunity to work in research settings. During my two years at Methodist University, Dr. Mark Kline reached out to me and we worked together on his research regarding undergraduate alcohol consumption which I then later got to present at the Methodist University Research Symposium. While at Florida Tech, I had the privilege to work in Dr. Frank Webbe’s research team. Dr. Webbe is the Director of the East Florida Memory Clinic and the Florida Tech Faculty Athletics Representative. I got to watch concussion testing and help input the data from the testing and speak with graduate students about the results. Both experiences taught me to appreciate research and understand how it applies in clinical settings. I am a dedicated and hard-working individual and I never quit what I have started. In addition to those characteristics I am very organized and like to make sure everything I do is clear and concise. I have wonderful communication skills and always put in my best effort in the task at hand. I hope to have an opportunity to meet with you and further discuss the position. Please contact me at the information above. Sincerely, Sean Elizabeth Edwards
