An Announcement from the Interim Pastor Nominating Committee
We are pleased to announce that, after a diligent and prayerful search, the IPNC has recommended and the Session has approved calling the Reverend Debbie Osterhoudt as our new Interim Pastor. Rev. Osterhoudt is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. She lives in Raleigh. She has been active in our Presbytery for most of the last three decades. She has previously served Hudson Memorial, Kirk of Kildaire, Hillsborough Presbyterian, Oakland Presbyterian, Wake Forest Presbyterian, North Raleigh Presbyterian, and First Presbyterian Garner. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to help us during our Transition Period.
She will begin her duties on August 1st and her first Sunday in the pulpit will be August 6th. Please plan to be there to hear what she has to say and stay for First Sunday Fellowship to welcome her.
Grace and Peace,

We are grateful.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Vacation Bible School begins at 6:00 p.m. July 9th
through the 13th. The theme is “Heroes of the Bible.”
Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the 9th at
Fellowship Hall. It isn’t too late to help! Call Leann Dale
or Linda Berry to volunteer. There are still a few items needed. See the
boards in the narthex or, as always, gifts of money are very much
appreciated. All children are welcome! Bring friends!
COMMUNION TRAINING
On July 2nd, there will be a class for youngsters grade 1 through
middle school immediately following the Children’s sermon.
Children who have attended a class in the past are invited to
attend for a refresher. When Communion is celebrated on July 9th, these
youngsters will have a better understanding of the meaning of Communion
and their role in this sacrament.
They (and everyone) will be encouraged to use the phrase “The body of
Christ, broken for you” as the bread is passed and “The blood of Christ,
poured out for you” with the cup.
MOVIE NIGHT – ON THURSDAY!!!
Thursday, July 6th at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.
“THE WAR ROOM”
Filled with heart, humor, and wit, WAR ROOM follows Tony and
Elizabeth Jordan, who seemingly have it all-great jobs, a beautiful daughter,
their dream home. But appearances can be deceiving. In reality, their
marriage has become a war zone and their daughter is collateral damage.
With guidance from Miss Clara, an older, wiser woman, Elizabeth discovers
she can start fighting for her family instead of against them.
