leave school, such as… I have learned many new research skills organisation /planning/ teamwork…. My first step was experiential I watched a video in classMy first academic step was to look up absolute and relative poverty in a dictionary I was lucky enough to experience a library and I learned the following about libraries I absorbed as much information as I could in class and also at home and when I worked My group and I used a variety of web-based sources These two websites were vital to me in my research as they provided me with an insight

into the social causes including drugs …..

Page 9: Coursework 2011

Steps and Skills

I also used a range of book sources……….

In my exploration I hoped to ascertain whether alcohol in Ireland causes poverty. Is it a social concern that effects all aspects of life…..

I wanted to know the role of education so I looked up the government websites I had to apply a critical approach here I had to look behind the statistics and look for social statistics……

Discussing these helped spark students/me into thinking about the travellers and their culture.

I decided to look at single parents…

Reflections on the social causes brought me to look into marital breakdown
