COURSES DURING THE MONTH OF JULY 2013

1. 40 days induction course for newly promoted ITOs from 15.07.2013 to 11.09.2013.

The induction course for newly promoted Income Tax Officers of NWR & Delhi Region was

started on 15.07.2013 and is to conclude on 11.09.2013. Total number of participants in this

course are 30. The main topics so far covered are Definitions u/s 2, Role of ITOs., Income un-

opment, TDS Provisions, Leadership Skills & Development, CCS ,CCA Rules with special ref-

erence to CAT Decisions, Aggregation of Income Sec. 68,69,69A, Retirement Benefits on su-

perannuation, Stress Management, Ethics & Values, Role of DDO, drafting of questionnaire &

2. Hindi Karyashala for ITO/Inspector NWR and Delhi Region

Two days Hindi Karyashala was conducted on 18.07.2013 and 19.07.2013. Thirty Six partici-

pants attended this Karyashala. The objective of the Karyashala was to promote the use of

3. Orientation Course for Newly Promoted ACsIT

The Orientation programme for newly promoted ACsIT, 2013 sent by NADT, Nagpur was

conducted at DTRTI, Chandigarh from 22.07.2013 to 02.08.2013. These trainee officers be-

longed to different regions. The orientation programme commenced with a grand inaugural

function presided over by Hon’ble Justice Sh. Rajive Bhalla, heading the Tax Bench of the

Punjab & Haryana High Court, Chandigarh on the subject “Quality of Appeals before Hon’ble

High Court - Framing of substantial Question of Law and issues of facts - Role of Assessing

Officers”. Sh. Jaspal Singh, CCIT (CCA), NWR, Chandigarh & Sh. S.K.Satpathy, CCIT, Har-

yana Region, Panchkula graced the function as Special Guests. Hon’ble Justice Sh. Rajiv

Bhalla gave an inspiring speech to our officers on the proper procedures and techniques to be

adopted by the Assessing Officers in the field so as to avoid frequent pitfalls that come in the

way of a successful decision in the favour of Revenue in the cases before the High Court . It

was very fruitful interactive session in which both the CCITs also participated with the newly

promoted officers with enthusiasm. The trainee officers were attached with the DTRTI, Chan-

digarh for attachments which included attachments with various financial institutions, stock

market, industrial visit, attachment with ITAT, visit to the Settlement Commission etc. The

trainee officers were sent to ITAT, Chandigarh and for other attachments to Ludhiana, Delhi

and Faridabad. As per the scheduled programme of the NADT they are to submit project re-

ports to DTRTI, Chandigarh for onward transmission to NADT, Nagpur by 10th

of August,

4. One day workshop on ITD/ASK in the rank of DCIT/ACIT and ITOs

A One day workshop on ITD/ASK in the rank of DCsIT/ACsIT & ITOs was organized by

DTRTI, Chandigarh. Twenty participants attended the workshop. The objective of the work-

shop was to provide comprehensive knowledge regarding use of ITD and functions of ASK

(Aayakar Sewa Kendra). Sh. Rajdeep Singh, AD (Systems), Chandigarh was the main speaker.
