About the Course

This course will qualify you to work in a range of early childhood education and care settings and is relevant to educators, family day care coordinators and applicants for a supervisor certificate to work in any approved education and care service in Australia. In most states and territories in Australia, a diploma is the minimum qualification required to be a director or manage an early childhood service.

Students are required to complete 240 hours of work placement in an approved early childhood service and a completion time of 12 months to 2 years applies to this course. Students are required to obtain a blue card in Queensland or a working with children clearance in your relevant state or territory.

The CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will allow you to potentially take on a supervisor or management role in child care, preparing you to establish a safe and healthy environment, and design and evaluate programs and care routines for children. The diploma prepares you to deal with the complex issues you may encounter in this career with confidence and professionalism.

You will learn how to manage staff who look after children, how to create a safe working environment and how to promote inclusive policies and coordinate the workplace. A work placement also gives you real-life training to make sure that you are ready to step directly into professional employment.

Course Delivery

This course is delivered online through which you will acquire knowledge and necessary skills. There is also a work placement component to be completed in an ACECQA approved early education and care service. Student work placement provides you with real-life training to ensure that you are ready to step directly into professional employment.

Available Funding

Higher Level Skills Program (Qld) The Higher Level Skills program provides a Government subsidy to support eligible individuals to access subsidised training. This program helps individuals to gain the higher level skills and qualifications required to secure employment or career advancement in the Early Childhood Education and Care industry. It may also help individuals to transition to university study. Eligibility requirements

You are 15 years of age or older

Have finished or left secondary school

Are a Queensland resident

Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrant) or temporary resident with necessary visa and work permit on the pathway to permanent residency or a New Zealand citizen.

You do not hold or are currently enrolled in a certificate IV or higher level qualification

Employment status does not matter, nor is there a minimum education requirement, except the standard entry requirements for the course

Apprenticeships

User Choice 2016-17 Program (Qld)The User Choice program provides public funding contribution towards the cost of training and assessment services for eligible Queensland apprentices. The program aims to provide funding aligned to the skill needs of industry and respond to changing government priorities.

Amazing Education and Training currently offers the CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care Course as an apprenticeship. Requirements for Apprenticeship

Must be enrolled at a secondary school in years 10, 11 or 12.
