Course Descriptions ~Language and Methodology Refresher(Young Learners)~ Teachers will learn new teaching techniques designed to help children aged 6 – 12 years learn English. Who is this course for? Practicing teachers of English who are working at primary level or below. Teachers who wish to refresh and broaden their knowledge of teaching techniques and methodologies for working with young learners. Teachers who want to further develop their proficiency in using English and feel more comfortable and confident using English in the classroom. Course outcomes You will have: Familiarity with the latest language teaching methodologies, classroom management skills and practical teaching techniques. An increased capacity to select, design, exploit and evaluate materials for young learners Strategies for improving motivation and engagement of young learners. Improved language competencies and confidence in using English in the classroom A greater intercultural awareness, including social, linguistic and cultural diversity and ability to foster intercultural awareness in your own classroom. Opportunities for post-course dissemination of good practice and promotion of innovative teaching to other teachers at local, national and international level. Course description Tuition (43 hours per two week course) All Bell Teacher Campus courses are delivered by highly experienced teacher trainers. The team includes a whole host of leading ELT experts and published educational authors. This is a practical course that combines methodology with language improvement. Participants can develop their use of English whilst also broadening their repertoire of effective language teaching methodologies and techniques for young learners. This course is taught in a practical way, through discussions, group work and interactive tasks allowing participants to experience new techniques, share ideas and practice applying new techniques in a safe and supportive environment. Topics covered on Language and Methodology Refresher Primary include: Developing a new language in a primary-level context Teaching vocabulary Encouraging your students to speak Making grammar fun Helping your students to listen Using songs and games Teaching pronunciation Storytelling Planning and implementing appropriate activities Communication and language issues Developing a positive, inclusive, working atmosphere that stimulates and encourages the children to reach their full potential. Each Course we run is tailored by our expert tutors to the participants so content may be adapted to best suit the needs of your group. Take the Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) Choose to take the TKT at Bell Teacher Campus and gain an internationally recognised qualification, awarded by Cambridge English, part of the University of Cambridge. Free exam preparation for the TKT is provided. There is only a small admin fee of £38 to take the exam, which includes postage of the certificate.
