Homework exercises include (A) practice by example; (B) apply your skills; and (C) challenge. These exercises are labeled A, B, and C in the Teacher’s Edition only. Students of all abilities benefit from this leveled structure. The Go for Help box refers students back to the examples for help on A-level exercises. All student help is labeled in green as Go for Help throughout the program. GPS exercises are also included in each exercise set and provide students with opportunities to apply problem solving strategies. Activity Labs provide students with opportunities to explore concepts and build a deeper understanding of the mathematics. Categories of Activity Labs include Hands-On, Technology, Data Analysis, Data Collection, and Algebra Thinking. Course 1 contains 2–7 Activity Labs per chapter.

142–143 Guided Problem Solving

Guided Problem Solving pages provide additional lessons to help students solve multi-step problems directly related to chapter content. GPS feature pages appear once per chapter.
