Spotlight on Business

StoreYourBoard• StoreYourBoard started from a passion for board sports.

In 2009, when founder and mechanical engineer, Josh Gordon, couldn’t find suitable home storage racks to organize and store his wakeboards, he built his first rack, and StoreYourBoardwas born.

– From 1 rack to now over 1,500 sporting goods products on its site

– Customers all over the world

– Developed into the leading retailer of storage and display solutions for board sports gear like paddleboards, surfboards, snowboards, skateboards and wakeboards, and also “non-board” sports gear like skis, bikes and kayaks

• Its small, entrepreneurial team is run by 3 corporate "dropouts" - a former engineer, programmer, and attorney - and in June 2017 moved into its new office and warehouse location in Troy, Virginia. It counts manufacturing partners across the country and the world, and continues to build on its presence in the outdoor sports retail marketplace by developing and incorporating the best technology and systems to unlock scalable solutions.

• With first class customer service and fulfillment teams, StoreYourBoard has received accolades for its online store. In 2016, BigCommerce, named StoreYourBoard its Innovation Award Winner, as featured on Yahoo Finance and BusinessWire.

Announcements and Updates

• Columbia Hazard Mitigation Grant Extension– Received FEMA approval to extend the grant end date for TJPDC’s

Acquisition of 4 Properties (Columbia) project from Sep 15, 2017, to Sep 15, 2018.

• Well repair for the Courts Building– Burned section of power cable from the well at the courts building

– Fortunately, the well pump was not the culprit, and the cable was easily repaired.

– The repair still won't be cheap. A crane truck was needed to pull the pump/cable far enough up to make the repair, but at least we don't have to pay for a new pump.
