In Worship, Monday is the New SaturdayCure your case of the Mondays by joining a new evening worship opportunity every Monday night beginning July 8th. We are moving our evening worship from Saturday to Monday at 6:30pm. Monday Night Worship will offer a more intimate worship service with a focus on community, simplicity, and the wonders of our Almighty God. We'll explore a variety of new ways to worship in this time slot to find what's most inspiring and relevant, and hope that you'll join us and try something new!

June Gift of Love What can brighten a shut-in’s day or bring tears to an ill patient? What can delight new parents with a hand knit baby blanket at their child’s Baptism? The Prayer Shawl and Baptismal Blanket Ministry has been at work for many years to provide shawls and blankets for CTK members. Yarn is provided by various means, such as the Gift of Love, and enables members of CTK to knit these gifts. Graduating seniors are presented with a prayer shawl as a token of love and caring from CTK as they begin the next chapter in their lives. Many thanks to the dedicated knitters and Gift of Love Ministry for the continued support of this ministry in the congregation. If you are a knitter and would like to knit a shawl, please stop by the office and pick-up some yarn!

During the month of July we will be celebrating the Season of Creation here at Christ the King. We're excited to celebrate God's creation as we gather for worship and to invite you to practice your faith in relationship to stewarding the earth. Throughout the month you're invited to participate in 3 month-long challenges:- Plastic Free July - try to lessen, limit, or eliminate your consumption of plastic and plastic products for the month. It's difficult and doesn't need to be done perfectly, but can make a big difference for our planet!- Eat Less Meat - The production of meat takes a lot of the earth's fresh water and creates a lot of carbon in our atmosphere. Choose one meal each week in which you would usually eat meat and cook something vegetarian instead! Check out the bulletin each Sunday in July for a meatless recipe to try.- Walk or Bike to Church - Many of us live close enough to church to either walk or bike. Limiting the amount of driving we do and the amount of natural gas we consume is healthy for the planet we call home. Each Sunday after worship you're invited to join in a discussion group of people who are trying at least one of these challenges to share how it's going and to support one another. We'll gather at a table in the social hall after worship and during coffee. Come once, or come all four weeks!

July 14th - Open Forum with Tim Sandry of the Bloomington Sustainability Commission and our Congregational Eco-Show & Tell. Tim will share what the commission is up to and how they can support you, as well as CTK, in our stewardship of God's creation. After his presentation, you are invited to share any products or information you have that helps you to be a good steward, for example if you shop with reusable mesh produce bags rather than plastic ones from the store. This is an opportunity for you to learn and to give others the opportunity to share ideas and see resources up close.

If you have any questions, contact Pr. Maria.

Capital Campaign IIIOur third building campaign, intended to pay off our mortgage, ran from June 2016 to June 2019 and officially ends at the end of this June. We still have a balance on our loan that we are in the processes of refinancing. If you find it within your means to continue your capital campaign donations, that would be welcomed. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for all that you have contributed. Please contact Jane Bishop if have any questions about your pledge/commitment.
