Council of Student Organizations De La Salle University – Manila The Council of Student Organizations (CSO) is the union of 40 accredited student organizations, categorized as professional, special interest and socio-civic organizations, of De La Salle University – Manila. Since it’s founding in 1974, the Council has continuously delivered quality student services and produced outstanding student leaders dedicated to serving the LaSallian community. To support the preparation, implementation and documentation of the activities of the accredited organizations, seven Executive Teams work under the supervision of the CSO Executive Board. The CSO Executive Board also serves as the coordinating body of the Council and oversees the implementation of university-wide activities (also called Ad Hocs) participated in by the different organizations. These activities include the Frosh Welcoming (FW), Annual Recruitment Week (ARW), the Lasallian Excellence Awards (LEA), and the Lasallian Enrichment Alternative Program (LEAP) which is a joint venture of the Student Council and the Council of Student Organizations. Council of Student Organizations De La Salle University – Manila

The Council of Student Organizations (CSO) is the union of 40 accredited student organizations, categorized as professional, special interest and socio-civic organizations, of De La Salle University – Manila. Since it’s founding in 1974, the Council has continuously delivered quality student services and produced outstanding student leaders dedicated to serving the LaSallian community. Documentations Team

The Documentation Team is responsible for ensuring the proper documentation of minutes of important meetings and the compilation and safekeeping of post-activity documents of organizations.

Activity Processing and Stamping Team (APS)

The Activity Processing and Stamping Team is the executive team of the Council of Student Organizations that approves selected on-campus activities, processing of pre-activity requirements and facilitating the stamping of all publicity materials of all accredited organizations.

Research and Development Team (RnD)

RnD is the heart of the council of Student Organizations. The team is responsible of ensuring that the Council and the organizations are at its best. Through factual and unbiased analysis, the team is able to increase transparency and accountability of information.

Activity Monitoring Team (AMT)

The Activity Monitoring Team works to maintain the quality of activities of student organizations through giving concrete but helpful criticisms based from the evaluation of each activity of the organizations.

Publicity and Marketing Team (P&M)

The Publicity and Marketing Team takes charge of the publicity materials of the Council, the CSO official website and the CSO official newsletter. The team also handles the sponsorships of the Council’s major activities. It also provides assistance to the organizations regarding publicity and marketing when requested.

Civic Awareness and Responsibility (CARe)

By the name itself, this team cares. The Civic Awareness and Responsibility Team take care of our less-fortunate brothers and sisters in depressed communities by undertaking community service and outreach programs.

Budget Team

A fertile ground for training in managing and auditing money matters, the Budget Team is an executive branch vital in ensuring the quality and reliability of the financial statements of each organization.

College of Business and Economics (CBE) G8 – The Alliance of CBE Professional Organizations AdCreate Society

The AD Create Society aims to provide students, especially the Advertising majors, a venue to know, meet and learn from practitioners in the advertising industry, and to enhance their knowledge and skills through seminars and workshops.

Business Management Society (BMS)

The Business Management Society (BMS) is one of the leading professional organizations in De La Salle University-Manila, established in 1985. We pride of our dedicated members whose holistic formation is honed through academic excellence, organizational and personal development, and social responsibility. This institution is committed to fostering passionate student leaders, maximizing student potentials and providing developmental opportunities for La Sallian business students.

  Economics Organization (EconOrg)

The Economics Organization is the breeding ground of future business leaders, nation builders and policy makers. It is composed of students who serve as paragons of academic excellence and beacons of service. The organization looks at being in dynamic synergy with the Economics Department and their goals. It is a student research organization that lobbies for growth and development of young economists, serving the Lasallian community and the Philippine society.

Junior Entrepreneurs Marketing Associations (JEMA) The Junior Entrepreneurs' Marketing Association (JEMA) is an

organization for both marketing and non-marketing students who aim to develop and enhance their marketing and entrepreneurial skills. In line with this, JEMA provides for the growth and development of its members through quality service and works of excellence, producing valuable assets to society.

Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA)

JPIA produces well-rounded individuals who are technically competent to do their business engagements and knows how to appreciate and enjoy life. It complements the academic training of accountants through book service, tutorials, and test supplementary lecture series.

Ley La Salle (LSS)

LEY LA SALLE is a professional organization for Legal Management Majors. Through effective networking and cooperative alliance, the organization pushes for sufficient information dissemination for the legal knowledge of the Lasallians. Today, it has extended its services to all Lasallians aspiring to pursue a career in the field of Law. It has been awarded as the Best New Professional Organization in 1988 and had won the Best Organization thrice since then. It was also recognized as the most outstanding organization in discipline advocacy. Truly, it is the product of 20 generations of dedicated, persevering and altruistic Legal Management leaders.

Management of Financial Institution Association (MaFIA)

MaFIA invites all students who are interested in making money, since we sponsor talks on investing in the stock market, schemes on how to make one’s money grow, etc. It also organizes field trips to financial institutions such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Young Entrepreneurs Society (YES)

The Young Entrepreneurs’ Society of De La Salle University is a local chapter of the Young Entrepreneurs’ Society national organization. YES serves as a professional organization for Entrepreneurship students of DLSU. It aims to promote the entrepreneurial spirit among business students and every other individual as the economic heroes of today’s trend. The organization aims to empower students and young people by encouraging and promoting entrepreneurship, sharpening their entrepreneurial skills and competencies by providing a comprehensive network of student and business organizations, government institutions, and non government organizations which can contribute to the cause of the organization. YES also aims to nurture and support young Lasallian entrepreneurs through sponsored seminars, workshops and other related activities.

College of Computer Studies (CCS) La Salle Computer Society (LSCS)

The Society distinguishes itself as the only professional organization of the College of Computer Studies. Its activities aim to bring the industry’s technology to the academe and develop the knowledge and skills of its members through numerous seminars on Virtual Reality, the Internet, Data Communications, and the like.

College of Education (CED) Union of Students Inspired Towards Education (UnITEd)

The Union of Students Inspired Towards Education, or UnITEd, is the professional organization of the College of Education guided by the LaSallian principle, working with the heart to live a life of service to teach minds, touch hearts and transform lives. UnITEd strives for excellence, prioritizing the needs of Education students. This organization aims to ignite passion for Education and to mold students to become advocates of Education who will contribute to the Philippine Educational System. In the light of this vision, UnITEd aspires to holistically develop Education students into becoming future teacher leaders by providing venues for character development activities enhancing professional and personal skills maximizing student’s potential as well as instilling volunteerism through socio-civic activities.

College of Engineering (COE) ENGAGE – Engineering Alliance Geared Towards Exellence Civil Engineering Society (CES)

CES is "built to build" its members not only in academics, but also to abide by the Lasallian virtues of Religio, Mores, and Cultura. It offers its members fun-filled activities as well as information regarding the latest technology in the construction industry.

Chemical Engineering Society (ChEn)

ChEn provides a variety of activities such as seminars, career talks, exposure trips, and socio-civic activities for its members. All these are in fulfillment of the Society’s vision of producing true Lasallian engineers.

Electronic and Communications Engineering Society (ECES) The ECES is the organization representing students taking

up electronics and communications engineering. A dynamic organization, it strives to meet the needs of its members.

Industrial Management Engineering Society (IMES)

The Industrial Management Engineering Society (IMES) is the professional organization for Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management Engineering Students. It aims to develop holistic Lasallian Industrial Engineers who not only excel in academics but are also God-fearing individuals willing to take on their vital role towards nation building. In addition, IMES is also affiliated with other Industrial Engineering Organizations from other universities in the

Mechanical Engineering Society (MES) MES pursues a move towards the task of serving and involving

its members in a wide array of academic and technical projects, as well as socio-civic activities.

Society of Manufacturing Engineering (SME) Know the latest in software and computer technology. Discover

different machines and share the excitement as your interest in electronics is stimulated. All these combined with practical lessons in management and lots of fun: the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACCESS)

ACCESS is a professional organization that was built for students taking up Computer Engineering. It offers academic related activities and career related activities in order for the students to develop their skills maturely and expand their engineering abilities as well as nurturing their social awareness, and understanding.

College of Liberal Arts (CLA) CAP10 - Alliance of College of Liberal Arts Professional Organizations Behavioral Science Society (BSS) The BSS serves as the official organization of the Behavioral

Sciences degree programs (AB-OSDM & AB-SPM). It is committed in implementing academic, socio-civic, and developmental activities that benefit the Behavioral Sciences community. It envisions a student organization that initiates, organizes, and leads projects that employ perspectives found in Behavioral Sciences courses such as social research, organizational development, human resource management, and program development.

The European Studies Association, the first student organization in Asia to be recognized by the Commission of the European Community, aims to motivate and influence its members and the Lasallian community in strengthening Asian-European Relations. Moreover, it has been able to strengthen its external relations, specifically with the Delegation of the European Commission to the Philippines, the United Nations, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the European Embassies, the European Cultural Centers, and the other European Studies student organizations in the other universities in the Philippines.

Literature Circle (LitCircle)

The Literature Circle shall guide its members to become responsible readers, critics, and writers through the academic study of texts to ensure full understanding and appreciation for the written word. It shall commit itself towards fostering a love for literature.

Nihon Kenkyu Kai (NKK) Nihon Kenkyuu Kai or the Japanese Studies Society is a

professional organization for Japanese Studies Majors of De La Salle University, and students who are interested in Japan. NKK fosters mutual understanding in building bridges of friendship between the Filipinos and the Japanese. It is a channel for interested students to learn about the different aspects of Japanese culture, traditions, customs and its people.

Political Science Society (POLISCY) POLISCY is for those interested in learning more about the

socio-political and economic structures in our society. It aims to develop students into active, critical, progressive, and nationalistic citizens working towards the attainment of a free, peaceful, just, equitable, and prosperous Philippine society.

Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Sikolohiya (SMS) Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Sikolohiya, the official

Psychology organization of De La Salle University- Manila (DLSU-M), seeks to unify the Psychology community by catering to their interests and needs. It promotes Sikolohiyang Pilipino and aims to further develop Psychology as a discipline in DLSU-M by providing talks, seminars, symposia, socio-civic

Students of Philosophy in Action (SoPhiA) The organization envisions a community of individuals who are

critical thinkers, open to liberal thoughts, intellectually honest, and appreciative of the mysteries of human existence. Its mission is to initiate opportunities, to build unity among its members, and to encourage greater appreciation of Philosophy.

Team Communications (TEAMCOMM)

This professional organization for Communication Arts and Organizational Communication majors seeks to hone the creative talents and technical skills of its members by exposing and involving them in the production of various forms of media. It aims for the development of its members to become competent professionals as well as effective leaders.

Liga Historia Liga Historia helps provide students with a wider perspective of

things by inculcating in them a profound interest and understanding of the human past, geared at the preservation and cultivation of knowledge. The organization endeavors to initiate activities that are responsive to the needs of the society and country, hence instilling in the students a genuine and unwavering sense of pride in their own nation’s culture, heritage and identity.

Dalubhasaan ng mga Umuusbong na Mag-aaral ng Araling Filipino (DANUM)

Ang DALUBHASAAN NG MGA UMUUSBONG NA MAG-AARAL NG ARALING FILIPINO ay binubuo ng mga kabataang pinanghahawakan ang paniniwalang sila ang mangunguna sa pagbabago, hindi lamang sa larangan ng midya kung hindi maging sa bansang Pilipinas. Sila rin ang muling bubuhay sa kahalagahan at magpapayaman sa kulturang Pilipino. At sa huli, nais nilang itaguyod ang wikang Filipino bilang isang makapangyarihang wika.

Chemistry Society (ChemSoc)

CHEMSOC dedicates itself to serving, first and foremost, the Lasallian community. For the past four years, it has established its testament of excelling in the field of chemistry.

Mathematics Circle

The DLSU Mathematics Circle is a professional organization that primarily aims to bring out the mathematical interests and skills of its members by implementing activities that challenge the students' competence in the field of Mathematics and Statistics. These activities also offer opportunities for students to practice their critical thinking in decision making. With these in mind, the Circle envisions excellent Lasallians, scientists, and leaders by promoting mathematical research, math appreciation, membership involvement and nation building. Through these missions, the Circle aims to bring the best out of each student.

Physics Society (PhySoc) PHYSOC is for those interested in Physics and its applications.

The organization aims to provide quality service to the Physics community. It also conducts activities such as quiz/contests, symposia, colloquia, exhibits, stargazing, field trips, and many more.

Societas Vitae (SV) Societas Vitae, an organization for Biology and Pre-med

students, aims to raise the level of consciousness of Lasallians with regard to environmental preservation, better appreciation of medical missions and outreach programs to bring out excellence in students.

The Socio-civic Organizations (SCoRe Orgs)

ENGLICOM ENGLICOM has been bringing the Chinese and Filipino people

closer to one another through socio-civic activities and by presenting the best in both cultures. It has opened doors for better understanding and created more opportunities for cooperation between the two cultures. ENGLICOM was established in 1963.

ROTARACT The ROTARACT Club of DLSU was formed in 1977 by a group

of college students whose main message was "to demonstrate concern through involvement and social action."

Student Catholic Action (SCA) Expect the unexpected when it comes to this organization. SCA

engages in all sorts of activities ranging from prayer meetings, retreats, outreach, living rosary, to beach outings, caroling, and parties.

United International Student Organization (UNISTO) UNISTO is focused on the rights and development of

International Students studying at De La Salle University - Manila. Its goals are to further awareness of the International Student population to the students, faculty and personnel involved with DLSU while forming camaraderie among International and Filipino students. Through celebration of all represented cultures and exploration into the foreign culture that its members reside in, UNISTO hopes to further the spirit of respect and multiculturalism that transcends beliefs and nationality.

Special Interest Organizations (SpIn Orgs) AIESEC - DLSU

AIESEC De La Salle University hones its members by through an integrated global learning experience better known as the AIESEC experience. This training includes the exchange program, leadership opportunities and participation in a global training environment such as international conferences. AIESEC believes everyone possesses the potential of being a leader and through AIESEC it is up to you to discover and develop your skills.

AIESEC offers its members activities ranging from team building, social activities and seminars to inter-school, national and international conferences. These activities mold our members to play smartly keeping the essence of a hard worker. Through this a global network will start to grow from you. From dealing with exchange participants from other countries to being an exchange trainee sent elsewhere, it is a challenge up to you to take. Thus if you want to step up and take this challenge, this is what you need.

MooMedia Moomedia is an organization geared towards providing quality

venues for students of the Lasallian community to learn, appreciate, and understand digital arts and multimedia technology. Through our various, exhibits, seminars, and hands-on workshops on different multimedia authoring software, students are able to keep up with the evolving nature of animation and digital media technology.

Philippine Students for the Exploration and Development of Space – PhilSEDS PhilSEDS is a chapter of the larger student run organization

based in the United States. This chapter aims to increase awareness of the pioneering field that is the space industry, in alignment with the SEDS vision of a space-faring world. The space industry sparks discovery and advancement in technology across all fields of study. Barely a percentage of that information reaches the students of the Philippines but if we open a channel with that world, we can find new ideas to inspire our students and tap their imagination, pushing them to think beyond limits and to be truly innovative.

Writers’ Guild (WG)

"More than words..." Writers’ Guild aims to generate an initiative for writing within its members by providing ways for them to learn to appreciate writing through honing their literary writing skills as well as incorporating technical and course related writing.
