DAY 1 Saturday, December 9 Arrive San JoseWelcome to San Jose! Our suggestion is to look for an early arriving flight to San José so you can use the afternoon to explore the surroundings of your hotel. This is a great venue as there is a very large offer of stores shopping centers and places for dining close to the hotel, so you’ll be able to explore the modern section of San Jose. Check in at the hotel starts at 3:00 pm, however you can arrive earlier, leave your luggage and go out exploring the city.

DAY 2 Sunday, December 10 San Jose - Monteverde Cloud ForestAfter breakfast, we will make a sightseeing visit to the main attractions of San Jose downtown. At the end of this very cultural enriching experience our coach will be waiting for us outside the museum in order to star the journey to Monteverde. On our road we will make a short deviation to the town of Sarchí, this town is known as the cradle of Costa Rican artisans and within a few minutes on town you will be able to understand why. Here we will make a stop for lunch and you will also have the chance to get a souvenir from the site. Afterwards, continue ascending to the Tilaran Mountain range, as we approach to our destination you will notice how weather and vegetation start changing as we will be getting into the cloud forest area.

DAY 3 Monday, December 11 Monteverde Cloud ForestMonteverde is recognized worldwide as the perfect destination for those looking to spend some real time surrounded by nature. You will be able to explore all the different types of ecosystems to be found in the region, as you learn more about the unique wildlife, many of which is endemic to the area. If you are lucky, you might be able to see the beautiful Quetzal roaming on the surrounding forest, the three-wattled bell bird or the black-faced solitaire. However, the most recognized animal in Monteverde is definitely the Golden Toad, also endemic to the area. Equally impressive is the unique flora, like orchids, bromeliads and strangler figs, which only adds to this forest’s already impressive beauty. Later, ascend to the treetops for a bird’s-eye view of the forest on the unforgettable Sky Walk, a chain of 6 suspension bridges at canopy level. Tonight, you’ll meet a native Quaker, and Local Specialist, who will share stories of Old Town Monteverde.

DAY 4 Tuesday, December 12 Monteverde - ArenalEnjoy a delicious breakfast before you transfer to La Fortuna de San Carlos, home of the colossal Arenal Volcano— a beautiful area filled with amazing things to do.

DAY 5 Wednesday, December 13 ArenalRise and shine with an early hike through the Mirador 1968. This private reserve located just next to the Arenal Volcano National Park honors with its name the year that the volcano made its greatest eruptions and changed the panorama of this region forever. Here your travel director will show you the evidences of the volcanic activity in the area and how it affected everything, even the smallest ecosystem in this beautiful forest. Continue to the town of Arenal to have a typical lunch any local of the restaurants around and make a short walk in town visiting the park and the church. We will head towards to the Arenal Hanging Bridges Park in order to have a walk on this beautiful park hanging from the tree tops, giving you a completely different perspective of the canopy, the forest and the views of the volcano. To put a flourish to this exciting day full of nature and amazing experiences we will visit a hot springs resort where you will be able to enjoy many pools filled with water coming directly from a volcanic vein, therefore containing all the minerals and exfoliating properties supplied directly from the nature and that will provide great benefits to your skin.

DAY 6 Thursday, December 14 ArenalEnjoy the sights and the sounds of the rainforest and experience its peacefulness as we quietly paddle the Peñas Blancas river. Monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crocodiles and numerous tropical birds await us! Our professional bilingual guide will share with you educational and interesting explanations of the plants and animals we encounter on the float You will truly appreciate the wonders of Peñas Blancas river and the surrounding rainforest as we travel down the river without a motor, this way you will enjoy the journey quietly rowing and taking photos. Once our morning tour is over we will return for lunch and a short afternoon horseback tour on the grounds of the hotel and then have the rest of the day free to enjoy the facilities of the

hotel. Finally, we will have our farewells to Costa Rica and your partners in the group as we enjoy dinner at the hotel.

DAY 7 Friday, December 15 DepartureAccording to your selected options there will be the transfer back to San Jose Airport for your departure flight.
