COST ACTION FP1205 TRAINING SCHOOL, BANGOR 3-4 March 2014
COST FP1205 Training School Bangor, Wales (UK) 3rd – 4th March 2014
Applications of cellulose in industrial film application COST FP1205 (Innovative applications of regenerated wood cellulose fibres) will hold its first Training School at BioComposites Centre, Bangor University on 3rd – 4th March, 2014.
The University was founded in 1884 as a direct result of a campaign in the late nineteenth century for higher education provision in Wales. Funds were raised by public subscription to establish a college of university rank in Bangor. An important feature of its foundation was the voluntary contributions made by local people, including farmers and quarrymen, from their weekly wages over a period of time. Today the University is home to nearly 12,000 students and 2,000 staff. Bangor is situated on the north-west coast of Wales, on the Menai Strait between the island of Anglesey and the Snowdonia national park (Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales at a height of 1085 metres). The Training School, will focus on a series of lectures and practical sessions, providing attendees with knowledge of the application of nano-cellulose in film production at pilot scale and the assessment of properties.
