Brought to you by two premier defense Associations AFCEA, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, established in 1946, is a non-profit membership as-sociation serving the military, government, industry, and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communica-tions, IT, intelligence, and global security.

The U.S. Naval Institute, founded in 1873, is an inde-pendent forum for those who dare to read, think, speak, and write in order to advance the professional, literary, and scientific understanding of sea power and other issues critical to national defense. The Naval Institute is the pre-eminent thought leader serv-ing all Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard personnel by advancing the naval pro-fession and preserving our naval history. USNI enhances the understanding of the vital contribution of American sea power to the defense and economic wellbeing of our nation.

Reach the operators who specify the current needs and use your systems, platforms, technologies and networks.WEST is the premier Sea Services event focused on operations in the Asia-Pacific region - showcasing emerging systems, platforms, technologies and networks that will impact all areas of current and future Sea Service operations. Senior leaders will address the theme “Lower Budgets and Higher Demands: How Do the Sea Services Strike the Right Balance?” Industry will showcase and discuss emerging technologies and equipment

that will impact all areas of future Sea Service operations. Now in its 25th year, WEST 2015 is co-sponsored by AFCEA International and the U.S. Naval Institute, both non-profit, non-lobbying membership associations. Registration is free for military and government. Many related technical sessions are eligible for continuing education (CEs) and training credits.

At the outset of his Administration, the President made a strategic decision to increase focus on the Asia-Pacific region and rebalance U.S. engagements, activities, and resources toward and within this vital region.

— White House Fact Sheet: The Fiscal Year 2014 Federal Budget and the Asia-Pacific

The President’s Fiscal Year 2014 Budget reflects this strategic priority by sustaining key investments made throughout the President’s first term and by investing in new initiatives to expand and deepen a Government-wide commitment across the region.

— Danny Russel, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Asian Affairs at the National Security Council (quote from the White House Blog)
