Following 25 years working with the ESB, where he held senior managerial positions, Pat founded PSE in 1985. Over the following two decades he successfully established the company as a leading supplier of power protection and energy savings solutions.

Patsy, with the company since it was established and the first employee of PSE Power, has in-depth knowledge of all aspects of operations. She manages the backroom support team for the field service engineers.

What is CHP?

Combined Heat and Power or CHP, is the simultaneous production of both heat and electricity – from one fuel source, generally natural gas. A CHP system recovers the heat normally lost in electricity generation for use in heating, dehumidification and other processes even including cooling.

In other words, it utilises the heat produced in electricity generation rather than releasing it wastefully into the atmosphere. CHP delivers remarkable efficiency, significant cost savings and environmental benefits.

As a form of energy, electricity is more expensive to generate than heat. In a typical CHP installation, the emphasis is on producing electricity at a lower cost to displace some or all of the more expensive power that would otherwise be bought from the electricity grid.

At the same time, the heat produced from the plant is used to replace heat provided from a conventional boiler.

CHP systems can provide energy savings of 20% – 25%, and in some cases up to 35%.

We offer a plug-and-play generator installation; a new, fool-proof way of installing diesel generators

quickly and reliably in a wide range of applications, usually in less than 30 minutes. Sets from 30kVA

single phase up to 2000kVA three phase are available.

Long-term generator rental

For customers with long-term or semi-permanent prime power or standby power needs, we’ll carry out

a full site survey to make sure you choose the generator best suited to your needs. We’ll also advise

you on and supply AMF control panels, fuel systems and bunded fuel tanks, distribution cabling and

any accessories you need.

Load Bank Hire

Load banks are primarily used for testing the electrical power output on diesel generators, turbines and UPS systems and also carrying out commissioning and maintenance work. Load banks simulate real electrical loads enabling essential setup and commissioning which ensures that all electrical and control parameters are met prior to power generation/back up equipment being energised on line.
