Now that’s what we call success: within ten years the number of our Sales Associates increased tenfold!

for 25 years now, I have been a proud part of RE/MAX, and I still find working with this company to be an exciting venture revolutionizing the world of real estate: with the goal from the start of becoming the best and largest real estate network in the world, we aimed to build an organization where everybody wins – customers, Sales Associates and Broker/Owners.

Today RE/MAX is one of the most recognized corporate brands in the world – in the real estate sector it is even the best known name.

The last decade has seen RE/MAX, LLC. doubling the number of offices and even tripling the number of Sales Associates, totalling nearly a 95,000. But the European numbers are even more impressive. It only took a period of 10 years to increase the number of European offices to more than 1,500 offices today! And it gets even better: while in 1999 the number of Sales Associates amounted to a mere 578, today there are over nineteen times more Sales Associates working across Europe, amounting to a totall of 13,000 Sales Associates.

In Europe in particular, we are about to take another important step crucially changing the European real estate market: cooperation.

Not simply describing an amplified collaboration of RE/MAX agents but also one of external estate agents, this system of joint business works astonishingly well. In Canada, for example, of all the real estate business deals, 95% are already made by means of cooperation.

Together, the two founders of RE/MAX Europe call on more than 75 years of experience in the real estate industry, creating value for Sales Associates, Broker/Owners and customers, initially back in Canada and the United States, and now in Europe.

In 1995, Austrian native Frank J. Polzler and Canadian Walter J. Schneider founded RE/MAX Europe together, realizing the universal RE/MAX vision of “being in business for yourself but not by yourself” on the European continent.

After co-founding and successfully running RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada, RE/MAX New England, RE/MAX North Central and RE/MAX Indiana in 1980, they brought the idea to Europe and thus sparked amazing growth in just over a decade.

With passion, discipline and a genuine desire to make a difference in the real estate sector, they established a system that has been beneficial to both agents and consumers.

Today Frank J. Polzler continues to provide strong leadership as well as guidance and inspiration to the Regional Directors and thousands of RE/MAX agents all across Europe.

Still going strong in reorganizing the European market, Walter J. Schneider keeps implementing his ceaseless ideas of better methods of selling real estate – thus continuously evoking changes in the way people think about and view real estate.

Back in 1973, two young passionate real estate professionals from Denver, Colorado decided to improve the quality of real estate services. The young enthusiastic couple Dave and Gail Liniger started recruiting the best real estate Sales Associates around. The idea was to support them with business administration and marketing so that the agents could fully concentrate on the customers by providing them with the best quality service and to create an atmosphere that bred success and benefited everyone: Franchise Owner/Brokers, Sales Associates and end-customers.

The strategy worked.

Recognized by the home buying and selling public for its red, white and blue hot air balloon logo,
